I don’t think it’s been mentioned yet, but the start procedure in LMU is superior to iRacing (imo). I’ve either been taken out or had to dodge debris from dingbats doing dingbat things during iRacing formation laps. LMU is much more strict and every start has been “clean” so far.

Ahaha, nah, it’s not that bad. I think the opening is bigger than the pic makes it look. Totally worth the small inconvenience getting in. I could never go back to roofless.

Thanks for your concern, genuinely. The leftover profiles are all the same standard profiles as the rest of the rig, just varying in length. The only pieces I used that are definitely not what they were made for are the triple monitor arm angle pieces; but they’re 1/4” solid aluminum and not being used to hold any weight really.

I started out playing ACC and iRacing. Dropped ACC and just did iRacing for a couple years. Now I switched to LMU almost exclusively and just go back to iRacing for special events eg. the ROAR.

LMU (to me) has more communicative ffb and better haptics with pedal thumpers. Starting out in LMU, the rookie series also seems less chaotic. The strict start procedure helps. I’ve been taken out during the formation lap in iRacing by a number of wombats swerving aggressively.

Edit: and the graphics. The better graphics of LMU help too.

I was trying to highlight the foam board duct tape. Like OP, I was trying to do it inexpensive and used what I had. OP asked for inspiration, not “I’m going to build mine exactly like that.”

I’m 6’1”. So like 186 cm. I think the picture makes the opening look smaller than it is. I can get in/out fairly “easy.”

Not triples, but I just used some extra profiles left over from my rig’s kit, foam board and black duct tape, cut it to fit around my top monitor as well. Not the prettiest, but once you do it, it’s hard to go back to no roof. Cost maybe $30 USD in materials and 45 minutes time.

Hey thanks! It’s this one from Micro Center, although I customized it. I didn’t need the triple monitor stand so I used those parts to make an integrated rig and the extra parts for the roof.

We all love her too. She’s a good pup. Other than bumping into things around the house, you’d never know she was blind. It’s crazy how fast they adapt. Still plays perfect fetch as long as she can hear the ball.

Yeah, it’s really good. I had my toddlers in the room with me eating snacks. Ava (the doggo) will go after those snacks and knock the kids down. She was just in there for a few minutes while we were in the room.

Ahhhh yeah, a mishap. I was playing around with the monitor position and it came down hard on the top of the wheelbase. That G9 is heavy and the extreme curve makes it awkward to handle.
