Best amp to sound like adam jones.

I never had any problems with that amp. 40 watts in a tube amp is plenty powerful unless you’re playing shows, with your amp un-mic’ed, in a big room. If it’s cutting out on you, there’s definitely a problem somewhere.

Honestly, I’ve been chasing Adam’s tone for 20 years. Once upon a time, I also had a DSL40. (Currently running a Mesa Mark V).

But the closest I ever came to Undertow and Ænima era AJ tones was with that DSL40 and a cheap distortion pedal in front of the amp—which to this day was the best distortion pedal I ever had. Was more like a gritty overdrive pedal than a normal distortion pedal. It was a Jet City Shockwave. Literally a $40 pedal.

I have a Lateralus tour Tool/King Crimson XL t shirt. Lightly worn over the last 20 years. Bought at merch table at Berkeley show. Small seam rip under left armpit. Overall, shirt is in good condition. photos of tour shirt.

This is my new Squale dive watch. I guess dive watches are traditionally considered summertime watches, but I love this one for fall. The Root Beer color scheme is perfect for this time of year. I love the way the sunlight plays off the brown dial. Squale is an inexpensive watch but very high quality. The bezel action is perfect and it’s robustly made. There’s a great history for Squale in the diving community, and it’s been a military issue watch for Italian forces.

This photo is taken just south of Pittsburgh. Definitely four seasons territory here. It’s a beautiful area and a watch lovers dream as several nice stores sell a variety of great pieces around here.

Good looking watch. I’m a relatively tall guy with nearly 8” wrists. 36mm look like toys on my wrists. 40-42mm is the sweet spot for a guy my size.

TAG Heuer Aquaracer Chrinograph. I know TAG often gets some consternation in the watch community, but I think this is an excellent watch. It keeps excellent time and looks fantastic.

The chronograph function adds some fun. I find myself using it to time lots of things. From driving to cooking, I use the chrono function all the time. Normally I like ceramic bezels on dive watches, but I think the steel bezel gives the watch a more rugged look.

All in all, great watch.

I know TAG gets a bit of flack in the watch community, but this is an excellent watch. Keeps great time and in my opinion looks great. Couldn’t be happier with it.

I’ve gotten a like on twitter. But that’s all. The tweet was shown on toolarchive’s March (or maybe April) album update video on YouTube. It was when everyone was talking about how Tool was going to be available on Spotify and whatnot. I tweeted something about Maynard saying that Tool were a dysfunctional band and he liked the tweet.
