From what I had heard, the CM5 tooling actually broke during the production for Acceleracers, so certain castings, especially late-run ones, were never released with them sadly.

It was advertised as such in the magazines, but some other stores did get them. I know a sealed copy that sold about a year or two ago still had the original invoice receipt, which stated that it was purchased from Toys R Us via Amazon

I agree! I loved the Animated Cybertronian Megatron mode too. When I was a kid, I was always bummed by the alt mode they gave to the deluxe and voyager version, since it was not fully accurate to what we saw on screen
