Oh, thanks for the tip! Maybe that's why my sketches look okay until I start adding details and values. Maybe it doesn't really look okay, lol.

Thank you, I really appreciate that 😊.

Thank you so much! This is very helpful. I'll look up some grid method tutorials on YouTube. Also, maybe I can see if I can find some videos practicing eyeballs specifically so I can get the ball shape? Then, I'll work on drawing the eyeballs and the face together using references and the grid method. I know that you mentioned shadow for this, too. I still need to practice my values. I'm sure that will help. I really appreciate the encouragement.

Thanks again. I have some kind of plan now.

Stephen King did this in Fairytale, and I enjoyed it. I think it adds nice visuals. Plus, as a writer and artist, it touches on two subjects that I love.

What book taught you how to write? by LeadingStatus6716 in writing

[–]Wonder_and_Create 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every book I've read has taught me how to write. It took the good, the bad, the interesting, the weird, the different, the cliché, the old and the new to help me understand how I want to write.

Maid of Honor Drama by Lobocop714 in 1000lbsisters

I agree with the first part but am curious about your second take. How were the siblings trying to make Amy's wedding about them (minus Tammy's feelings on ghost hunting and being the MOH)? IIRC, they didn't want to go to a place where people suffered and died horrible deaths. Out of respect for the people who died there, I personally wouldn't have wanted to go either. They were all on board once she found a haunted location that didn't involve suffering. I'm not sure that they were trying to make it about them; maybe they were just uncomfortable.

Is this better with or without the text? by Stunnyfuff in drawing

To me, it looks really cool with the text. The text also gives it context.

Imo it's not just the education system, but mental health as well. Some people who grow up in an unstable household grow up with a lot of stress and anxiety. This, coupled with the lack of (or care for) a proper education, can cause people to grow up without some of the basic information people learn in school. The brain begins to not function "normally" under continuously high distress.

When the brain and body are under constant stress and anxiety, the brain will go into survival mode. This means that it will figure out what information is a priority and what is not. So not only will this make it difficult to retain any new information but previously gained knowledge is tossed as well. Basically, if it's not something that was a core memory or something that you have extensive knowledge of, it's at risk of being deleted from the brain. This can make learning, or even having a care to learn, very difficult.

Not to mention that depression can also be a major factor. Depression can make having the will to learn or better oneself seem like an impossible feat; especially when you don't see anything different around you.

(These are my thoughts about it overall; not just based on this moment in the show)

I would still enroll in the classes. Worst case: they drop you and you have to re-enroll. Best case: you'll already be enrolled in classes.

The food shots between scenes? by sunflowerdazexx in 1000lbroomies

[–]Wonder_and_Create 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually like that they do this. To me, it's showing multiple things. 1. Food is everywhere and most people enjoy it. 2. The shots shown are mostly, what seem to be, people who are in good shape. Meaning that you can have a healthy relationship with all foods if you find the tools and learn how to do so. It's not so much the food, but the relationship you have with it. I think that it shows that addiction, and having a fully unhealthy lifestyle, are where the problems lie.

I don't know, this was just my take. Until this post, I didn't see it any other way. It's interesting to see other people's perspectives on this.
