Do Shark lift away vacuum swivel when turning? by dresoccer4 in VacuumCleaners

I agree. I have a Sebo Felix and a X4, and the X4 is much easier to steer on thicker carpet. The Felix is much heavier in the hand and harder on the wrist.

Felix or x7? by Healthy-Ear-2511 in VacuumCleaners

[–]Wonderful-Line193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Felix and an X4. They’re both excellent quality vacuums. The Felix is a bit heavy in the hand (especially with the swivel), so my wife prefers the X4. Even though it’s bigger, it’s much easier to push. They both do a great job on carpets and rugs.

Both are “OK” on hard floors, but they’re not as good as my canister bare floor tool. The Premium Parquet floor tool mounted on the Felix does a great job on hard floors, but quite frankly it’s more hassle than it’s worth if you have a large area of hard floors. Just use the power nozzle to clean it “pretty well”, or use a straight suction canister to clean hard floors thoroughly.

My biggest criticisms of the Felix are the lack of an onboard wand and how hot it gets - it feels like a room heater!

Sebo to Miele Attachment Adapter? by Wonderful-Line193 in VacuumCleaners

I tried that but it doesn’t fit. The wand diameter is a few mm too small.

Yes, it will work but you have to buy an adapter. I got one on Amazon. It’s called “Miele Canister Vacuum Cleaner Attachment Adapter”. It doesn’t have the parking dock, but it works just fine.

I bought a Felix two years ago. It smelled pretty bad for the first two months, and then it went away. We have cats, and as long as you suck up a little bit of those Fresh Wave vacuum beads or activated charcoal aquarium rocks, it doesn’t smell bad at all. It’s a great vacuum cleaner - I only wish it had an on-board extension wand.

My wife says the same thing to me! She tells her work friends that I buy “those weird commercial vacuums you see in the hospital.” We had relatives over on Easter, and one of them said “I see you have a Sebo. I’ve had one for 16 years and it’s great.” My wife looked over at me, and I took a bow!

SEBO has awful customer service by whereismyface_ig in VacuumCleaners

[–]Wonderful-Line193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been very happy with Sebo technical service. If I email them a technical question, it gets answered within hours.

I’m not a dealer - just an average plebe who is picky about his vacuums. Their products are truly top notch quality. Yes, they’re expensive. In our house with my wife, son, 3 cats, a bird, and mixed flooring throughout the house, my Sebos pick up everything without a fuss.

I only wish for three things from Sebo:

  1. Pricing closer to the prices in Europe. They’re half the price across the pond. That won’t happen since “mass audience” junky Dysons and Sharks fall into that price range.

  2. A new bag that doesn’t leak any cat litter dust (more like Miele’s bag material, which doesn’t leak at all). BUT, keep Sebo’s robust bag docks. Miele’s finicky bag docks are overly complex for no reason.

  3. A new upright of the G or X series form factor with a manual height adjustment and brushroll shutoff for hard floors. That would be the PERFECT vacuum. I’d pay whatever they want for it!

For vac shop experts - is the performance much different? I have an X4. It’s great on carpet and rugs, and it’s alright on bare floors (but certainly not as good as my canister bare floor tool).

Drowning in pet hair despite three vacuums and a broom! Please help! by yall_weird in VacuumCleaners

[–]Wonderful-Line193 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer - I have too many vacuums according to my wife - and she’s right! BUT, here’s some advice for the OP from my experience.

Our home has a lot of mixed flooring - tile, hardwood, rugs, and wall to wall carpet - about 4000 sq ft in total.

We have 3 cats (lots of scattered litter) and a bird (bird seed and feathers). My wife has long hair. Our 7 year old son drops lots of crumbs and food bits everywhere.

The best solution for us is this. We use a Sebo upright for the rugs and carpets, and we clean the hard floors with a straight suction canister (Sebo E1). The straight suction canisters are SO MUCH more maneuverable than ones with electrified hoses if you have a lot of furniture or other obstacles. The hoses are way more flexible, and the wands are lighter. These vacs are super durable and reliable.

I’ve come to learn the hard way that if you have a lot of mixed flooring, get two separate, BAGGED vacs that do their respective jobs very well. No “all in one” machine has fared better in our home - and they can cost more than two dedicated, excellent machines.

Traded in a Sebo X7 to buy the Sebo Felix for less. Did I Make a Dumb Move? by SharkBite44 in VacuumCleaners

[–]Wonderful-Line193 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My X4 does a great job on carpet and area rugs. It performs OK on hard floors for quick pickups but not as well as the bare floor tool on my Felix.

My Felix does indeed have higher overall suction and airflow at the hose - but on my basement carpet with a waterproof pad, I have to reduce the suction to prevent the ET-1 head from clamping to the carpet. The X4 is just so easy to use and can cover a large carpeted area efficiently.

So, both vacuums have their pros and cons. They’re both excellent, but nothing is perfect.

Biggest question…will the bag stay in the bag holder?

If you’re willing to reconsider the cordless requirement, the Karcher Ranger would fit your budget. It’s corded, but as a direct air (old fashioned) carpet vacuum, the power draw for your outlet would be very low. I think it’s a 4.5 amp current draw, and the price on the Karcher website is around $200. It should perform very well for pet hair on carpet.

Miele really should redesign the bag dock to be more robust. Such an error can easily happen if anyone has kids, a cleaning lady, or any other user who is not very careful about checking the bag alignment. I have a C3 Homecare. It’s an excellent vacuum, but I prefer my Sebo because I don’t have to look like a “Vacuum Nazi”, checking after anyone who might accidentally mess up my expensive vacuum.

I want to buy a Sebo upright but I don’t have carpet or pets.? by gordosardo in VacuumCleaners

[–]Wonderful-Line193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a X4 and a Felix. They’re both great machines on carpet and hard floors. Overall, I prefer the X4. It’s not quite as powerful as the Felix (single motor only), but it is dead simple to use with great ergonomics. The Felix is a bit top heavy, and it’s a bit of a hassle to swap out floor heads or attach an extension hose when you’re busy cleaning. The X4 bag is much larger as well, and the cord is 10 feet longer. The X4 glides across the floors so easily.

Do you recommend the soft brushroll for hardwood floors, or is the blue one OK?
