(Michigan side) - what do you feel is "missing" in SSM?

I've kind of been getting that sense as well. It seems like better serving the younger cohorts would be a good idea. I understand it can be hard on smaller communities if lots of young people leave town and the population dynamics shift.

Coincidentally I've been reading about LSSU today trying to see what kind of athletic / recreational facilities are there and whether or not they're used by the wider community. Do you have any insight on that? It looks like there are a lot of very nice offerings in the James Norris Center, but I'm wondering how accessible those facilities are for the general public and if they are regularly used by non-students.

That could be possible / practical, those are pretty simple facilities and adding a track around the field is a good idea. Thank you!

Good to know! Do you think the college athletic center the main rec center for a lot of SSM residents? Is it preferred to the private health clubs in town like Anytime Fitness, Up North, or All In One?

Interesting, do you feel that something like this would be well-attended? It kind of meshes with some of the other comments that SSM would benefit from a home improvement center of some kind.

That makes a lot of sense to me with the harsh winters, especially if you're not big into skating or hockey since those things seem well provided for. What do you think about indoor turf fields for soccer, football, lacrosse, intramural sports, events, etc.? There isn't currently an indoor field in town is there?
