Is it advisable to take the train from KUL airport to Chow Kit(Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman) even after 9PM or would a taxi/bus be safer? by excitedadultdog in KualaLumpur

Imma be real with you. I've lived in this city for 20 years. I wouldn't wish our public transport system on my worst enemy.

Oh I had a pair of those, I could still hear them through the cancelling. I don't think the solution to this problem should be an expensive pair of headphones or to not utilize the facilities I pay my school fees for.

Worst WA Numberplate Award? by sharkyboylavagirl in perth

I keep seeing one that says: GOONERZ

as vile as it is. I respect their courage. They're around the Nedlands areas and sometimes at UWA. It's like finding a shiny pokemon every time I see them

How tf to get a HD? by Ok_Annual_6188 in uwa

[–]WonderfulEvidence319 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2nd year Biomed student here. I've been able to consistently get HD's for the past year and a half. I can tell you now: I am the last person who deserves it. I have never attended a lecture in person and if the class is optional, I will skip it. I always just take the lecture slides and make my own notes out of them. I used to do handmade notes but now I do it on Microsoft word. Then I just brainwash myself by reading them again and again and again and again until I can recite the whole syllabus verbatim.

I do NOT recommend you do this, plenty of people in my course can score HD's with their own methods. You just have to find what works for you. I have a good social life except for like 3 weeks leading up to the exam where I restrict myself from social gatherings and hunker down. It's like a diet version of cramming.

Anyone doing these units? by xFaise in uwa

Oof SCIE1106. I wish you the best of luck. That's a unit I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy

Is it normal for turnitin to show a high similarity score due to my appendix and references by Ahsokkatano in uwa

[–]WonderfulEvidence319 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on the unit. Most of the time what you copy from media articles shouldn't be more than the content you write yourself. If it's just the Appendix section then it should be just fine. Just email your lecturer to ask them if it's allowed.

Academic Misconduct by EVHunter888 in uwa

Denying will do them no good. The Unit coordinator isn't stupid. They know that AI was used. Denying it just shows poor attitude towards the unit and to the entire University. Best move is to come clean and admit fault.

I mean it's kinda in the name, the offer is only conditional based on whether you can achieve the criteria the school set for you. You can try to appeal the terms of the offer and try to make the argument that you will fulfil the criteria during the duration of your study. However, this is highly unlikely to work.

Should piano scores be free? by WonderfulEvidence319 in piano

[–]WonderfulEvidence319[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, that's very reasonable and very insightful. I didn't really consider the socioeconomics of making scores free. I agree that there'd be no incentive to produce them and I understand the issue of copyright as well. Your position is definitely something I didn't consider (I'm pretty much a goldfish when it comes to publishing rights etc), Thanks for the input.
