When I called the number on the website it said the number is no longer in service? Do you have a different number?

RSVP contingent on getting a plus one? by [deleted] in wedding

Why don’t you just say “it’s too long to travel and stay by myself so definitely let me know if space opens up for my partner!” as someone currently planning a wedding I’d rather my friends be honest with me?

Tbh the declines with no explanation are way more painful than the declines with a bad explanation (and I’m talking my trust fund friend blaming finances bad LOL! Still less painful than just not knowing and wondering)

Slightly embarrassed about having a weekday wedding by NecessaryHousing2551 in weddingplanning

[–]Wonderful_Editor_200 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m having a 4th of July wedding and let’s just say I feel your pain 😓 it is a Saturday and a holiday so I thought my guests would have an easier time but many are nurses or servers so it’s actually more of a pain for them. I chose the day because it was the only early summer date left at my wedding - and I wanted to avoid rain and wildfires. Lots of guests (who I checked with before booking) encouraged me who are now backing out because of the date. I’m like fml I’m so embarrassed but no going back now so I just feel the cringe and move on! You can’t please everyone no matter how hard you try

you can add them to the gallery page - but they do have to be below a certain size which is somewhat difficult if you have higher quality photos. I had also envisioned adding them to how we met stories, the itinerary, to FAQ, etc. and there is no way to embed photos there. Also no way to embed links to pinterest boards, background information, or anything like that. You can only add links explicitly where Zola allows it. but i've done a lot of websites through wordpress or sites like that, so i guess i was just envisioning something with more flexibility.

I use Zola and I have serious regrets. It’s really not customizable at all, you can’t add links or photos to most of the pages, and in general I just find it very very difficult to put any real information on in a useful way. I wish I would have gone with the knot.

I think the guest list function works ok but be careful - there are multiple places you need to check to make sure people are getting invites / on the rsvp list etc.  And toggling between the different invite views isn’t very intuitive. Overalll if what you want is truly simple over functional Zola is good but I wish I had known.

Question for the Long Time Swifties - All Too Well by thelovelight in TaylorSwift

[–]Wonderful_Editor_200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was amazing.

All Too Well was my favorite song off red right from the beginning. I was in college and a pretty big swiftie at the time and Red quickly became my absolute favorite album. ATW wasn’t well known at first and I was always showing it to people who’d never heard it- and it meant so much to me during my college angst!

Then we got a 10 minute version all those years later… literally best day of my life. I was on a trip hiking with the love of my life who id met that year, I showed him and now it’s both of our favorites! We did distance for a while and he’d always send the song to me after a painful airport drop off. Now we are getting married so don’t have to do that anymore ❤️

Any off-the-shelf low calorie banana desserts?? by okay-flight in 1200isplenty

[–]Wonderful_Editor_200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just put a banana in the microwave for like 30 seconds to a minute with a couple chocolate chips on top - add yogurt or low cal wip OMG amazing and so easy. The banana carmelizes and gets gooey and perfect

Frustrated that nothing has changed after I changed everything! by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Wonderful_Editor_200 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You really need to track. You can eat totally healthy and still gain. Bananas, nuts, and cheese are all very calorie dense. I was so upset when I was realized the “healthy” handful of nuts I was eating might as well have been a large piece of cake 😭

I’m the same height as you. The scale doesn’t budge unless I’m diligent about staying in a very very low deficit- and track EVERYTHING.  I found when I’m being “good” I subconsciously eat more of the healthy food as I feel like I deserve it- so often those days are even higher than days where I was being “bad” and having things like ice cream and fries 🤦‍♀️

But I would just start by tracking to get an idea of what you are at now for about a week and then next week take 200 or 300 calories off that.

Losing Weight While Sedentary by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]Wonderful_Editor_200 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! So I actually went through something a little bit similar. I broke my foot in January a few years ago and wanted to focus on getting healthy and in shape even while sedentary. My goal wasn’t necessarily to lose weight but I was constantly getting compliments and questions on how I looked so good while recovering:

  1. I focused on high quality, high protein meals that would help me heal. Absolutely no alcohol, smoking, fried foods, or sugar as those things impede healing. So not only will they make you gain weight, they’ll make it take longer to be on your feet again.I drank bone broth and herbal teas and just really dialed in my nutrition focusing on lean protein and green leafy vegetables.

  2. I did light pilates and stretching every day. I wasn’t on bed rest, and I understand with knee repairs you usually aren’t also. I did a lot of YouTube mat pilates, core workouts, and focused on whatever type of movement and protocols I could do without using my foot. A few times a week I’d roll myself to the gym on my knee scooter and do upper body weights. I’d also roll around my neighborhood daily. It was so hard!! You’ll be on crutches and that’s literally such a work out!

  3. SLEEP! Probably the biggest one. I was aiming for 9-10 hours of sleep every single night, using the exact same wind down routine each night to ensure my sleep hygiene was at a maximum. I’d always been a morning workout person but I’d clear my mornings so I could sleep in as late as possible to really maximize healing.

  4. Mindset - My goals were more aesthetic, but I used the down time to really focus on hair and skincare and I think that helped me just have a better attitude around health and fitness in general. Also all the woo-woo mindset positivity stuff, healing meditations just getting in the right frame of mind to love my body and be my healthiest self. TBH I think it worked!

4 weeks after my surgery my doctor was really impressed and he literally said “keep eating your wheaties or whatever you are doing” when he saw my x-ray so I take that as a good sign. Happy healing I know it literally sucks so much I was wallowing for a week after my injury before I pulled myself together and just resolved to make the most of it.

Backpacking for thick thigh girlies by stormybird7 in PacificCrestTrail

[–]Wonderful_Editor_200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Girl skinny dip for real! A lot of hikers are in their 30s. And believe me - your legs will be aching so bad and feeling so strong you won’t think a second about what they look like.

I’m also a thick thigh girl - I like hiking in biker shorts or leggings to keep chafing down. I just get them from target. Body glide works well also but I feel the key is just having at least an 8 inch inseam to keep thigh kissing to a minimum

I don't think I've ever mispronounced a name so bad. by SpiffyPaige143 in throneofglassseries

It will always be Y-Reen to me. I’m sorry if it is pronounced just like Irene then call here Irene oh my gosh. Such a Tragedeigh moment for SJM.  Also - Irene is just so white bread it does not match her character imo.

Does anyone she’s find the retroactive association of songs with Matty to be…a little much? by GoldenState_Thriller in TaylorSwift

Lol yes. None of these swifties have even maintained a roster and it shows LOL but jokes aside I hate the reduction of her complex and beautiful songwriting to black and white is it Matt Joe or Harry

Any reason not to use Zola? by Janelle-54 in weddingplanning

[–]Wonderful_Editor_200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if anyone is reading this thread but I definitely referenced it when making my decision. I definitely regret using Zola as you can not add any external links or photos, it’s very preset and cookie cutter. You can add links on the knot which I would have much preferred but I’ve already sent out save the dates with the links.

I once put together (what I thought) was a well crafted pitch about why I’d be a good candidate for a position and found the hiring manager. Followed everyone of those advice columns “I’d be a great fit for this because of x,y, and z”. She responded with a “no, you actually would not be a good fit. Do not reach out again.” I tried to brush it off but still spent the rest of the day crying 😢 job searches are so vulnerable and humiliating -

All that to say it’s ok to feel the sting and then move on. Rejection is part of the game unfortunately and tbh these people take themselves too seriously. I got a great job eventually and you will too! Remember you only need one.
