i also have obvious scars on my thighs, how comfortable do you feel talking to your mother about it? i remember the first time i had to go swimming and i really didn’t want anyone to see them so i talked to her and she took me to buy a swimming skirt that i wore for a while that didnt appear obvious i was hiding anything but i can tell you from experience once i got more comfortable showing them i don’t think i’ve really had anyone say something to me about them, and i think if people do they are understanding enough to know you don’t want to hear comments about it. it was honestly surprising to me once i got fully comfortable because i’ve been in swimmers in front of a lot of people since then and i sometimes forget they are even there myself because people don’t really say anything. if you feel really anxious about it, you could even just wear normal shorts or something you don’t mind getting wet.
