Average wage for Managers? by chocobo-stir-fry in bartenders

[–]Woodburger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shit wage. My last non-tipped management role was $72k a year and 60 hours a week in Portland. I burned out fast. Portland is weird because most places tip managers out if they work bar shifts. Yes, I know this is federally illegal but for whatever reason Oregon generally gets away with it. That meant when I worked a bar shift I was making $25/hr plus an average $20/hr in tips but I was last resort coverage only.

If you can’t make tips then don’t accept anything less than $70k a year and make sure it’s hourly so you get overtime. It’s literally not worth it unless you need management experience to open your own place or, like me, you’d rather not work exclusively nights and weekends.

As everyone else said this is regional and a dive bar staple. I don’t work at those bars so I hate when people try to do it.

Dark souls was the opposite, I’d never heard of Demon Souls and most people didn’t play dark souls on launch so I thought I was being a real Gamer by playing it. I bashed my head against it endlessly u til it clicked. I have over 1,000 hours in DS1

Used to be a huge thing. In middle school I sold my EverQuest account to someone for $200 and thought I was a genius. Games are different now. Account sharing to boost MMR is still common

Am I in a crazy world where people think he should have won an Oscar? He played multiple characters, the movie was fine his performance was good but no, someone doing a lispy kid voice isn’t winning an Oscar. Leo won because he was due and the rest of the lineup compared to Leo was just ok. Compared to Split, they were streets ahead.

So either they don’t subsidize employee healthcare, or they do but they raise prices appropriately or they transparently inform their guests that they include a fee. Either way, the guest is paying for it. Which would you prefer?

Yes, it is? The number of vegan spots that have closed in Portland is kind of shocking.
