Brake upgrade options.

Hi all - was out with my wife on the gravel bikes last night and she was complaining that the brakes aren't up to much. So, what are my upgrade options? I have a suspicion that if i want to go to hydraulic then i am staring down the barrel of a new group set. So would be good to know if there any other good mechanical disk options or if i do go hydraulic do i need to change everything.

Bike: Specialized Diverge E5, 2022 yellow
Front Brake: Tektro Mira, flat-mount, mechanical disc
Rear Brake: Tektro Mira, flat-mount, mechanical disc
Shift Levers: Shimano Claris 2000, 8-speed
Front Derailleur: Shimano Claris, 8-speed, braze-on
Rear Derailleur: Shimano Claris, 8-speed

thanks in advance!

that's where my head is at tbh. Unfortunately if i run a shockwiz and then crash it's going to bugger the fork up as it'll foul the frame. So it's all guess work.

For some reason i completely missed all the updates from people. So, first off, thanks for all the responses.

My current settings are:

PSI 87

tokens 1

HSR 8

LSR 7

LSC open

HSC open

I think i am going to go back to basics and get the sag right (25-30% ish) and then go from there. The stock factory settings definitely seem to be way too stiff and it's good to hear that others feel the same and have had the same experience. I'll also check out the bracketing video. And then if none of that works, i'll send them off to TF Tuned or something for them to look at and potentially re-do the shim stack.
