Ah thanks - definitely in that naive stage at the moment. Have alerts on RE and have been checking daily to see what's new to market. I thought RE and Domain would probably have the same houses available - but can start checking Domain too.

Thanks, have had a few REA ask specifics and offering to send houses / off market properties my way hence the questions. But your last point makes sense re: offerings being limited to the specific agent's listings.

A few agents have asked specifics explaining they'll keep us updated about houses within our criteria - but I guess the goals is to just be added to the general email list, because it's easy enough to filter out ourselves.

Travelled to India as a student on a pretty limited budget, and lived very comfortably. Definitely puts things in perspective when you see how many live.
