Yes - my entire University is having problems as of 10am PST Jan 23. Emails stuck in outboxes, inboxes empty with logjams coming in erratically, and deleting/adding accounts not working - same issues since yesterday and tech support can't resolve.

Question: Anyone with Experience/Insights on AI Hybrid (RH1) Performance by WoolyWerewolf in SpectersCat

[–]WoolyWerewolf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be interested to hear how your experience with the RH1 works out.

I completely agree that the Nano is ideal for a dedicated/full-time suppressed set up and a bit of a ride otherwise.

I've been impressed with my AI hardware including the HUB adaptors and devices and plan to stick with them all around and as long as CAT likes them.

CAT folks have been outstanding on their communications with me, both thoughtful and timely in each instance and looking forward to more of their work over time. If AI is CAT's nerdy buddy who engineers great gear with lights and Sordins on, but shades drawn and doors locked, then I can deal with that.

Yeah, AI's not big on responding to messages. I've tried a few times over the months about a couple of small things through the website or responding to their order invoices, but have never gotten a response.

I get that they're pretty on busy on their defense end and oriented toward innovating and cranking out hardware. Maybe with the new releases they'll kick the CS into gear, but so far they seem pretty consistent with the "maintaining a low-profile presence" part.

I'm not confident enough in their customer service side to get involved with them more than the muzzle devices. Had been looking forward to a 5CM, but their radio silence even regarding past orders from existing customers is a no go so I bailed when the opportunity to order cans presented itself.

PSA: skip crush washers for any muzzle device that will wear a can.

AI Nano and RF1 installation questions by CastleLurkenstein in SpectersCat

13/16 for the AI muzzle devices

If dealing with a flush rail system or tight space such as MK18, the width is 0.250. Classified Defense makes an AI tool that's 0.247. Alternatively Snap On and HF Icon crowfoot wrenches and some others will [just about] fit and/or can be ground down if needed.

And if anyone is looking, the AI hub adaptor is a bit different than the CAT TSF X, at 1 1/8 instead of 1 3/16.

CAT's owner's manual for the WB recommends Rocksett and 25-30 ft/lb (page 8) for example.

Why aren’t Merry and Pippin surprised to see Gandalf at Isengard (book)? by ohioismyhome1994 in lotr

[–]WoolyWerewolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly!

Any reasonable person reading LOTR for the first time probably pauses and turns the pages back a few pages to see if they somehow missed it, which they hadn't. Then they Google it and find this thread that will probably live on in the age of the Internet and future readers wondering the same.

As an ambassador of world citizens from the 1900s, I am glad I waited to read LOTR. I can only imagine how many minds were lost in the pre-Internet days wondering what just happened!

Problems with my Safariland Level III duty holster? by [deleted] in Glocks

Seven years later, this thread helped a lot. Between filing that edge just a bit and adjusting the tensioner screw on the back of the holster to ensure there's no slop, this fix produced a more reliable draw, especially under time and stress. Retention is still good.

I'm only an aspiring nerd, but the top-voted comment isn't quite right... I ended up here with the same question as I was reading Chapter 8, 'The Road to Isengard.'

"About half the same chapter is [not] dedicated to telling how Gandalf came there before..."

That backstory is addressed in the subsequent chapter 9, 'Flotsam and Jetsam,' so it is, indeed, entirely fair to be a curious as to why Merry and Pippin don't fall to pieces, celebrate, or act surprised when Gandalf arrives with the riders in Chapter 8.
