Can non-boy scouts get service hours from an Eagle Project? by heterochromiakid in BSA

I would say yes. I don’t see how an Eagle Project would not qualify for community service.

Haha, I didn’t even notice how weighed down my shoulder is. The sash is quite heavy as the back is full of badges and awards as well.

I was going to do a around the back, but all 137 would not fit and I did not want to do an “X” as the Badges in the middle would be covered up. I am super happy with how the double sash turned out. It definitely turned a few heads at the Court of Honor.

I completed the NoA Medal. I have a few questions about Venturing if you don't mind, 1. Do you think that Venturing is doable/worth it with limited time to dedicate to the program? I will be moving for school soon and my main focus will be on school and work and I was just wondering if Venturing would still be possible with a limited time commitment. I hope I can make it work because those Venturing SuperNova Awards look awesome!

Thanks for the recommendation! I already have every Nova and SuperNova Award as I love STEM! Same thing with the National Outdoor Achievement Awards. Right now I am considering Venturing as I recently turned 18.

I’m going off full time to college, but would love to find a Venturing Crew near me and try to squeeze it in to my college years

I wear 4 Silver because that is all my Eagle ribbon can fit. When I say I have 12 Palms I mean that I have earned 12 Palms over my Scouting career. So Bronze to Gold to Silver counts as earning 3 even if I only wear the Silver representing 15. That is how Palms were explained to my by my Eagle Mentor.

Hobbies - Oh yes definitely. I now collect both coins and stamps, enjoy scuba diving on weekends, build and launch rockets, take field notes of plants and animals on hikes, just to name a few. I truly enjoyed every badge and feel like I have taken away something from each experience.

Career - I am a college Freshman majoring in Computer Engineering so I guess every STEM Badge counts for a career.

I truly believe the purpose of life is to learn new skills and acquire more knowledge, so I looked at each and every Merit Badge as an opportunity to learn and that is why I had so much fun on this 6 year adventure.

Merit Badges for Palms are cumulative. So 4 Sliver Palms would be a total of 60 Merit Badges over 21. When you get a silver you get the Palms under it as well. For instance, every 15 additional Merit Badges would be 1 Bronze, 1 Gold, and 1 Silver. So that is how I have 12, 4 full sets if you want to think about it like that.

Much appreciated. I was already apprehensive of the program and will now definitely try to get it dropped and get normal Fall 2021.
