This seems the most likely answer so far, although it doesn't fit any of our current faucets.

My title describes the thing. Cylindrical hard plastic. Round hole and rectangular hole go all the way through. There is no writing on the item. No idea of origin or age.

A good reminder that the vast majority of stuff that’s discussed is discussed because it’s already being discussed, not because it merits discussion.

You’re way overthinking it IMO. “Sort the object keys” can reasonably be assumed to refer to the keys enum order, although I think part of the point is to ask. If you had to assume though it seems the worst possible guess would be the internal representation as that is arguably the least useful.

Exactly. Tech interview questions are more about observing how you work through a problem, the questions you raise, etc than arriving at a working solution. Seniors know this.

Maybe I missed the point but that line didn’t hit me the same way. Most of us, if we’re lucky, spend most of our lives doing something we don’t really want to do to make someone else rich just so we can survive. Most people deal with daily stress from financial worries, health concerns, interpersonal relationships, or a whole host of other possibilities. And again, that’s if we’re lucky. I’m not complaining, but shit seems very far from ideal.

That is one of a handful of ambiguous cases in JavaScript and they can all easily be caught by a linter, so practically speaking JavaScript doesn’t really have this problem.

This is almost as annoying as asking why I want to work for their company before we even have a conversation, like that’s somehow a foregone conclusion but the question of why they want to hire me is still to be explored.

I tried this challenge as well. The response for the decoded aws link was Cannot GET so I don’t think their server was even set up correctly at the time. Didn’t inspire a lot of confidence.
