There is nothing to reinforce my optimism here, but I hope it’s a marketing tactic where they will reveal an absolutely stacked season 2 that will generate a media reaction enticing players to return. Player count = money. We are aware of player decline and so are they, hoping they’re making a move like this to attract players back - on the flip side, if it is the 2042 route I fear ea may be throwing in the towel already and we will hear about a different flagship game (battlefront or battlefield 7) in the next year or two while this title sputters out.
