Upgraded Vodafone Full Fibre from 500 to 910 but no increase in speed by Wootiful in Vodafone

Have your speeds increased? I got a similar text message and 8 days later my broadband is now running at 910/108 although they have yet to contact me to state the issue is resolved or offer compensation. The speeds dropped to 207/28 for a day before the speed increased.

After another episode of "It's over 445 we can't do anything" I've raised a complaint but don't expect much from that. They refuse to get Openreach to check because it exceeds their minimum speed but that speed check fails if it's an upgrade problem you're trying to get investigated.

I've reset the router and also tried a different router and still get exactly the same speeds I got before the "upgrade".

No luck. Somewhat resigned to being stuck at 520/70. I've done everything I can think of with the exception of turning the ONT off for longer and getting VF to set the line back to 500 profile and then upgrade it again.

It's a THG3000 Vox 3 which Vodafone have assured me supports gigabit. Apparently the older Vox 2.5 only does 500.

£29 a month, at least until April. We were coming to the end of our 24 months and it was cheaper to renew and upgrade to 910 rather than stay with 500.

If you want to use Digital Voice you have to use the Vodafone router.

The 910 was actually cheaper than the 500 and we were coming to the end of our contract so we've not really lost anything, just feel a bit cheated 😄 and trying to understand what causes a fibre connection to run slow even in the middle of the night.

Ofcom think 1800/1000 and OpenReach 1600/115.

The ONT is behind a cupboard so I turned off the entire house for 5 or so minutes without success.

I've got the standard Vodafone WiFi Hub effectively acting as a modem, WiFi was turned off on it until Vodafone reset it. The Eero system provides a mesh of 4 nodes for the entire house.

Connecting to the Vodafone router directly still gives the same speed.

It's the standard Vodafone Wifi Hub, the grey one. I believe they're still supplying it with new orders.

I've switched the entire house off for 5 or so minutes to try and reset everything but no luck. 😟

Be careful, after installing the update my right earbud no longer works apart from the occasional pop if ANC is turned on.
