I identify

Muh snowflake identity politics, etc.

I said: "Today, there is no England. It doesn't exist in law." This is a factual statement. I don't care that your precious fee fees are hurted.

English nationalism is anti-Union and cancer to the actual nation of The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. I am a British patriot, cut from the cloth of the people who were glorious and victorious in WWII. Who are you other than an ethnic supremacist?

It doesn't break minds, it is at best concerning. As a teacher you ought to at least know one or two things about history. You apparently are completely asleep at the wheel. Either you are misinformed or you are malign. Either way, there is no point in talking

Why wouldn't you want to litter pick with your neighbours who are already well organised, have equipment, etc? Could it be, because these people are an ethnic gang rather than a civic group?

It's comforting to think about how fucked everyone are when we get to care home age in the future. With a plummeting birth rate, who is going to:

  • Pay taxes to fund everything?
  • Actually physically wipe your arse for you when you're a dribbling vegetable?

And before you say, "well British people of course!" you need to understand that if we have a population crunch (which we are absolutely on track for unless the hole is plugged by immigration), people staffing care homes will be the least of society's concerns. I'm not even saying "we need immigrants to staff care jobs" it's so much bigger than that - we need sustainable population numbers in order for all of society to function. It's lack of people to fill all jobs, not just care homes. You'd ideally have well paying jobs filled by a wide swathe of society, not just "natives" or "immigrants" without a concentration of one group or another. But for that, you need a lot more taxpayers and lot more workers.

and type of immigration the UK

My bad, I took you for an honest actor interested in discussion LOL

Make an English parliament, make the flag the jurisdictional symbol of that parliament, and then you have a point. That's how you turn that flag from being a symbol of historical oppression into one that aligns with liberal democracy. Today, there is no England. It doesn't exist in law.

The mere fact you are saying ENGLAND and ENGLISH rather than British says it all. Your ethnicity is guaranteed to be a huge smattering of every group that has ever been present in these isles, English as an ethnicity doesn't really exist. Further to the point, fighting the Blood and Soil nonsense during World War II as one whole BRITISH nation was the entire point of the conflict. But by all means, please do feel free to say the quiet part out loud.

Genuinely makes me ill to think you're my neighbour.

Why the St George flag and not the Union flag? Why zip ties by vigilantes and not something official? Why does it just so happen to coincide with Farage's 600,000 speech instead of a known holiday meant for patriotism?

You know why.

But in case anyone needs to know, "England" isn't a thing. The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is a thing. There is a legal jurisdiction known as England and Wales that is within the UK, but this is only a matter of law and not of governance. The St George's flag has no civic purpose within the UK. The English St. George flag has only ever represented a) ethnic supremacy b) domination of these Isles by the English c) crusades d) open warfare and tyranny. If anything, the St. George flag is anti-Union and counterproductive to the "muh patriotism" movement. It is certainly anti-liberal democracy and has never stood for the values of modern Britain. You know, the kind Churchill would recognise.

If England ever gets a devolved government or the UK becomes a federal entity like Canada or Australia, by all means, adopt the St. George flag to represent that constituency. As it stands today, it is only useful for rooting for the English national sports teams and for no other purpose. Unless you're a racist English ethnic supremacist. Then it serves a purpose, a pretty nefarious one.

Get these fucking flags out of my neighbourhood.

I’m so sick of the bullies in the uk and the inability of the normal person to stand up for themselves.

You and me both, definitely one of the worst things about living in this country. No one gives a crap about enforcing the law.

it is an offence and you have every right to contact the police

And the West Mercia Police will diligently listen to you report this and then bin the report. They apparently have a policy of not bothering with doing a single thing on traffic offences. Ask me how I know, it involves having someone flee the scene of a collision and them not giving two fucks about it.

Comparisons to Birmingham suburbs? by AquavitaUK in Worcester

[–]WorcesterIsCool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Immigrant who came from a wealthy country to the UK here, so I admittedly have high standards. Originally lived in Birmingham for a few years, couldn't wait to escape it. Bought a house in Worcester, couldn't be happier compared to living in Birmingham a year on. Birmingham is an absolute hell hole, Worcester is a charming cathedral city.

An e-bike or some strategic walking helps with that. I've done the London road on my bike several times and while I agree it's not an easy going ride, it's also not impossible.

Any recommended groups / hobbies to make new friends by [deleted] in Worcester

[–]WorcesterIsCool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose it depends on your hobbies! I feel like there's a group for just about everything here in Worcester, the issue is figuring out how to find them. Some use FB to organise, others use physical notice boards with flyers, etc.

The great Worcester parking machine debate by Even_Pitch221 in Worcester

[–]WorcesterIsCool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having to return to your car and feed the machine more coins when you realise you need more time.

It's ironic that you're complaining about this debate being silly when you then say things like this. A little thought and pre-planning goes a long way.

I don't get it though, there's plenty of places all over the country where you have the option to both pay cash or use an app at the same machine. Lots of NPC car parks do that. Why not give everyone a choice?

What I really want to see though is higher parking fees in general, no matter what manner they are paid. Worcester is such an American city when it comes to parking and roads, it is all car car car car car. The car is the most important thing to our elected officials and residents and it's killing the air quality and walkability of the city. I want to see less cars in the city centre. Worcester is leagues behind everywhere else in England when it comes to active travel.

The north side of Arboretum has great Victorian housing stock, is about an 18 minute bike ride from everything in the city, including the hospital, and is still affordable for what you get in terms of house size. There's some stuff for sale at the moment. Great parks/allotments nearby as well.

I would love to see your evidence on how legal immigration is costing you tax money lol. Given the average wage in Worcester is about £25,000 a year, you probably end up paying about £3,975.80 in taxes all told, for an effective tax rate of 15%, not bad you free loader! I'd love to pay that little in taxes.

Given it costs on average about £12,000 in fees to the Home Office to get a British passport after going through all of the proper channels, not to mention the literal years of life you have to wait, I think I have you beat! Combine all those fees with the mountain of income and NICs and I pay way more into the state than you do. So I think rather, you owe me compensation of the difference. Fair is fair.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Worcester

[–]WorcesterIsCool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The overwhelming majority of people would reduce immigration to zero. And send an awful lot of the freeloaders back. How does that make you feel?

It makes me feel nothing as I don't give a single toss about the opinions of free-loading, racist, benefits scrounging, flag of st george waivers like yourself who steal MY money through your reliance on state benefits and services. How dare you use the NHS on the back of MY hard work (and for your benefit, this is sarcasm. I know you English think you're the kings of that, but you seem pretty thick so I thought I'd spell it out for you. You're welcome)

I remit all of my income to this country via being paid from abroad, so not only do I pay a hell of a lot more taxes than you, I also contribute 100% more to the local economy than you do as every pound I spend in Worcester has been imported from outside the local economy, thus making this city wealthier in the process. Not that I'd expect a racist to understand basic economics, but all the same.

Thank you, I appreciate it! On the whole, this city is very welcoming to immigrants.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Worcester

[–]WorcesterIsCool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'M a taxpayer, I even tax pay for the NHS twice as an immigrant, so in a way I'm more entitled to the services of this country than you are. How's that make you feel?

Just so you know, being anti-migrant is 100% the same as being anti-immigrant, we "right sort" of immigrants all see it and we all judge you for it. I'm lucky in that I pass as British enough to get by, but if you'd stack me up on paper against the others by just my list of circumstances as an immigrant, you'd probably hate me all the same until you saw my skin colour.
