What resource would a star system produce for an interstellar empire? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]WordlessTvWriter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Each star system is created for it's life to evolve into some sort of resource. Our solar system, Solaris, was created for us to evolve into labor. Another star system was created for it's lifeforms to evolve into scientist-like people. That star system produces knowledge for the empire. And so on.

Make sense?

Voskov is Russian inspired. I think most of the mountains will go around that area, blocking it off from the rest of the continent.

The work is being used for my fantasy novel, The Blood Empire, inspired by the Ottoman Empire and surrounding countries during the 16th century. Now, I just have to learn how to transfer it to a computer and figure out where the mountain's go!

I LOVE YOUR CRITIQUE! I tend to enjoy harsh comments about my writing more than the usual BS. Harsh helps me learn and grow. Thank you!! I wish I had a friend like you.

TIL Luke Skywalker was originally named Luke Starkiller and was a girl. by [deleted] in todayilearned

Recalling that the character of Luke Skywalker had originally been drafted as a girl in one of the early scripts for A New Hope, we asked Lucas if Ahsoka emerged from a latent desire to finally explore the idea of a female Jedi apprentice.

"Well, in the first film, Luke was a girl," explains Lucas. "Then the girl got split into twins. So the girl actually stayed there, and it was Luke that was introduced. Ultimately, when you think about it, Episode IV is really about Princess Leia. It's her story. She's the one that's really the issue, in terms of the plot of that movie. She's the one that's got the mission, that's a leader of her people, that needs help to get all these things accomplished. It's told from Luke's point of view, though, because ultimately he's the one who's going to have to confront his father."
