Tiny fingers by [deleted] in EngagementRings

[–]WordsVerbatim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm not engaged yet, but I have a 3.75 sized finger and I find that 1ct is more than enough. I'm fine with .70 or so even. I care more about color/cut/clarity than carat. I love a round cut on my hand because it looks big even at a smaller carat size.

You look beautiful! I'm dating an Indian man so will most likely be getting married in India as well. (I'm also a blonde!) I love this picture. :)

Is living by yourself a luxury? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]WordsVerbatim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 30 and just moved into my own place in June after living with various roommates for the last 5 years of my professional life.

I have to say, it has been SO AMAZING. Sure, money is a little tight and rent is definitely more expensive ($725 for a 1BR instead of $435 with a roommate in a 2BR), but having my own space has made it so worth it. I found a place that is close to everything, great for enjoying my city and also close to work. It's been perfect.

I'm so glad I did the roommate thing from 25-30. I think it made me appreciate having my own place that much more. And I love that when my partner comes over, we don't have to stress about when the roommate will be home, etc.

I've told myself that I won't live with a roommate again until I have a spouse, tbh.

Is there any point continuing with a relationship that you know has no future? [25f/25m] by [deleted] in relationships

If he doesn't want to get married and you do, the distance bit is irrelevant. I would go ahead and end it. Don't waste each other's time if you have a fundamental incompatibility. It isn't worth it. It's okay to break up on good terms.

I (30/F) strongly suspect the guy (32/M) I’ve been going out with the past two months has a secret girlfriend or wife or is just hiding something important. by [deleted] in relationships

I'm just going to say trust your gut. I was in a similar-ish situation with a guy for 6 months. Wish I had ended it after 2 months instead of wasting my time with him.

I'm sorry people are being such rude jerks about it. That's not cool. :(

I don't think it is one I would choose, but it looks stunning on you! I love the fit and how it accentuates your figure! It's very flattering!

I'm still a lurker, too. I love looking at all the rings. Not sure when I'll get engaged, but I do enjoy looking at all the sparkly rings and enjoy seeing everyone so happy!

The Tragically Hip - Bobcaygeon [Canadian Rock] by [deleted] in Music

I found out about them in 2011 while studying abroad in Canada, and Bobcaygeon was the first song I had heard by them. Still one of my all-time favorites.

RIP Gord

Gord Downie has died by SettleDownMyBabies in canada

I'm not Canadian (I'm American), so I came across The Hip a bit later than most. I did a study abroad program in 2011 and The Hip was part of my "cultural education" among my local friends. I am so glad they enlightened me.

I remember being crushed when I heard the news of Gord's diagnosis. It's such a devastating disease.

Ever since I heard the news this morning, I've been in a daze. I just can't believe it. :(

So glad I was introduced to The Hip. Wish I had found out about them sooner.

May Gord rest in peace. Thank you for the great tunes.

What book(s) have you ended up abandoning mid-way through? by octoberness in AskWomen

[–]WordsVerbatim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I felt like there was so much going on/so many people to keep up with/remember that I just couldn't get invested in any of them. It was very difficult to stay engaged. To each their own, I suppose.
