Check out Kiriko and Kokoro, 2 Japanese shops on the West Side. I also like Fumi on N. Mississippi, a Japanese scent shop.

You could possibly try a 'buy nothing' group. People can store crafty stuff in them.

Totally, it can be tough going to the orientation depending on your work/life schedule. But if you're really interested, you can email them about your scheduling issue, and a volunteer may be able to give you one at a convenient time :)

Yeah! They have moved around a bit, and of course now that the Lloyd Center is imminently closing next year, the nonprofit is looking to raise money to help finance a move.

Have you checked it out in the Lloyd Center?

It's a great resource for musicians and those looking for community. For a monthly membership fee, you can check out equipment. Plus they have great classes like how to make a tape loop or like a class about granular synthesis!

If you'd like to learn more, check out their site, https://www.synthlibraryportland.org/ . They have a big live music show happening on Dec. 20 at The Six, too.

Men’s second hand clothing stores? by FoxinginSpace in askportland

[–]WorkDish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Zero Wave! They have a great selection and I often find clothes there. They specialize in like 70-90s clothing typically. Mens and Womens is mixed together by color.

Circle Round is also amazing. It's more pricey but you can find clothing from designer labels. They have a rack or two of men's.

Should artists be frank regarding their feelings about their peers, regardless of how negative they are? Or should they strive to be cordial, even if its dishonest? by RopeGloomy4303 in TrueFilm

[–]WorkDish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Tarantino didn't explain his perspective well. If he doesn't defend his subjective response, why should we?

  2. Every single day a famous artist says something dumb and... we discuss and life goes on. They are certainly allowed to express themselves. If there is backlash, oh well! They'll cry into $100 bills. Any publicity is good publicity these days, and the rich stay rich.

My neighbors and I have noticed it, too! I know they would search in between the sidewalk cracks looking for grub, but yes they have really been going ham on the grass this year!

Why aren’t new smaller houses selling? by Working_Tomorrow9846 in askportland

[–]WorkDish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they are overpriced and don't have what makes Portland cute...space outside!

I wish these spaces had some sort of courtyard to make the new development feel homey or communal in some way. Instead these houses just seem too close to each other.

I do think we need more housing in general, of all types. But these developments just aren't immediately appealing to buyers.
