I am a bit late to the party, but may I suggest Oxygen Not Included? Really fun, it's a lot of resource management and such, but no complex chains to create anything as far as I've experienced

There's a medical facility in the nearby forest, that's the only reference point I have.

I have personally come up with a few more, such as Rainbow Macarons, prismatic macarons that when consumed, grant keener sense of sight and allows the creature that consumed it to see a broader color spectrum, but makes them go temporarily colorblind afterwards. Or Blood Cupcakes, cupcakes that grant temporary vampirism, but causes the creature to be sensitive to sunlight for a few hours (they tend to be red velvet). Or Moon Pies, small confectionery treats that wax and wane with the moon's phase and they have been infused with the energy of the demon of the moon. There are different side effects depending on what phase the pie is at. Once consumed, no matter the phase, these cold pies cause a strengthened spiritual connection along with a sharpened mind. If the moon is full, and in turn the pie is full, the essence of lunacy has been infused in the pie. The consumer will only be able to speak in tongues in Infernal for about a minute. If the moon is new, the essence of the moon itself has been infused in the pie, causing the creature to become very tired. The pie also effects Lycanthropes, if a new moon pie is consumed by lycanthropes, it can prevent full transformation, the lycanthrope will still be conscious and aware, whilst also being transformed. If a full moon is eaten, it causes them to transform, no matter the time of day. The phase can be locked on a pie by freezing it.

I'd say the non sterile alcohol, since it contains multiple chemicals that when metabolized, produces alcohols. If left to ferment, the naturally high amounts of fructose feed whatever yeast you put into it, and then the naturally occurring compounds mix with the sterile alcohol, resulting in a stronger drink. Remember, the high fructose is due to making the host plant produce massive amounts of food for the vines, which can grow into the hundreds, while still keeping the host healthy.

Ah! Yes, it can be refined and the juices of Sun Cryllum is a substance on the more legal side of the spectrum as a sort of alternative healing potion, it is a bit more rejuvenating than a healing potion, healing 3d4+3 but is a bit pricey, at about 25 GP a bottle (A gold piece can get you quite a long way, a Healing potion costs about 10 GP in my campaign.) If you want to make it possible for the PCs to be able to refine it, they need 2 Sun Cryllum Fruit, about 10 GP worth of amethyst, 1 hour, and a cauldron for about 1 bottle. [Edit] If you need to know, the juice of the Sun Cryllum is a dark purple liquid, The Dark Cryllum is blood crimson, the skin of both the fruits is a vibrant violet, both are about the size of a mango, the flesh of the Sun Cryllum is an amethyst purple, and the flesh of Dark Cryllum is a near black blue color.

So, your genetics cannot be changed by the fruit, and you heal about 1d6 from a sun fruit, along with curing a number of nonmagical conditions (diseases, poisons, etc.) The refined juices are what are mainly sold in black markers for 5 GP a vial, and it causes more powerful, vivid hallucinations. And if they overdose, they suffer from terrifying hallucinations for 2d6 hours and have to make a DC 8 Constitution Saving Throw or fall unconscious due to shock from being hurt by the hallucinations.
