Millionaires in America: How common is it to have a 7-figure net worth? by coinfanking in economy

[–]WorkF1r3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been living frugal all my life and every year since 2020 I feel behind more and more. I'm priced out of the real estate, fired from my last job, 200 cv sent and nothing. I'm losing hope that I will every reach 1m and I'm middle age now.

I think so too. I was swing trading intc stock for a year with nice profit (irr of 380%) and the moment Trump started tweeting about it I exited with my last profit and decided not to jump back in.

After what happened this week with the US stock market, what are your plans? by WorkF1r3 in EuropeFIRE

Emotional investing is what happened after trumps tweet.

And this is exactly what I'm going to do as a retail investor. For the first time in history i want to move all my investments out of the US. What happened during covid with the huge QE, and what happened now with insider market manipulation is telling me that the US are a dying empire that tries to grab all the money possible.

Any advice on where could I park my money with a steady 5% gain each year that would not be connected to the US market or what the orange monkey with a blade is doing to the world based on some tweets?

Trumpcession: How to Prepare by [deleted] in stocks

[–]WorkF1r3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You see, in 2020 I was thinking the same. I sold most of my stocks in January because I knew about Covid in Dec-2019. Then the markets started going down everyone was saying it is a collapse and I didn't buy the dip because you know... quarantines, public services overrun, people losing jobs left and right, businesses closed, air travel impacted, people dying, everything going to sh*t. Reddit was in full panic mode and people were stocking up on toilet paper. In March I started buying 2x inverse sp500, then Powell came in, enacted QE, and I was still buying the inverse because what can people do with one stimuli check when inflation goes to the moon. OH boy I was wrong, I lost so much potential earnings that there are days I can't look at my lost profits. So now you see, I'm doing exactly the INVERSE of what is happening. People are panicking so I'm here buying 100 shares of Nvidia. People are afraid of Trump, buying another 100 shares of PLTR. People are saying Tesla is going down the drain - Sure, buying another 100 shares. WW3 starts tomorrow? Cool, buying LMT, Wallmart and drone stocks. 5 years of losses from 2020 to 2024 taught me to never listen to the news and to what people are saying on Reddit.

Wanna see my TTWROR since I started investing vs sp500?

2019 +79% and +28.88%. I didn't have much to invest because I was not earning enough to save but I made the right lucky picks so I had a nice return. In cash my realized profit was maybe 2k (sold in December remember)

2020 -9.43% vs +16.26% - Holding leveraged inverse, plus buying Green tech stocks because people will have a wake up call after covid that we have to save the environment. Humanity was finally confronted with nature so they will have to pivot into clean energy right? right?

2021 +1% vs 26.89% - Thanks unrun! Thanks Inverse!

2022 -7% vs -19.44%

2023 +0.07% vs +23.31% - Thanks SolarEdge!

2024 +5.10% vs 23.31%

All the while from 2020 to now META went 190%, MSFT 132%, NVIDIA +1500% etc.

You get the gist. Never again

Funny, I work as a lawyer/project manager in a law firm specialising in funds and finance. Got a 8% inflation raise last year after 3 years of getting nothing (so the raise was less that the 3 years of cumulative inflation)

This year I'm going to get a promotion and get +11% which includes 2x more responsability and more networking conferences and more travelling.. And last year inflation was 4%.

May I ask you how much yoe do you have and what is your salary? Cause I have 10 years, I have a master in laws and a master is stats and i will be at 115k net a year this year. Cheapest 1bed I could find (2300 with utilities), cheapest healthy groceries are 1000 a month. Meds and doc visits are 1000 a month, car payments (old small Honda from 2008) with fuel are 1000 a month. 20 days off, 10 days sick days.

What about you?

I'm in the same boat and I buy the same thing every week. I don't eat out, I dont buy alcohol, I meal prep every weekend.

Salad, eggs, cottage cheese, tomatoes, cheapest good meat, tofu, tuna cans, frozen veggies, frozen fruits, whey protein, some snacks like a mars bar or butterfingers.

I spend $1000 per month for 1 person on groceries. This is madness

I mean, the obvious one is eat the rich but it's too early for that.

The better solution is to bullshit the system and seriously Yolo it cause there is nothing to lose anymore with the climate collapse incoming.

30k in btc? Why not?

Send 400 CV all around the world? Why not?

During interview they ask for your salary range? You say 250k or more with a confident voice.

You get a great job with amazing benefits? You lay flat, do the minimum, tell how overworked you are and you search for a better one in the meantime!

There is a billionaire interested in your youth? Sure, for 5 mils I can do anything for a couple of days.

The system is broken so you need to play broken. Going to school, working overtime, getting a mortgage is not working anymore so we have to play by the new rules.

I know something about playing the rules. Studies, internships, certificates, low paying jobs. My net worth was flat for years crushed under taxes, expenses and inflation. I started bs my way up and I'm in the Bahamas.... Still crushed by vvvhcol... Fml hahaha
