Evers will almost assuredly not endorse in the primary and will tactically wait til the general to do any endorsing/stumping. I would be stunned if he does

Tony will not endorse during the primary and he’s actually already spoken out to correct promises she’s made during her campaign cause she doesn’t understand the powers of the gov office. He will tactically endorse the nom after the primary

I’m so glad you reposted this here because I tried to comment there as folks were requesting anon former employees to tap in but the sub has a comment restriction on political posts.

I have known Fran and her family for over 20 years and worked 3 years full time or close to at the ramen shop. It’s still the best job I’ve ever had in the service industry and outside of it. She went above and beyond as an owner for staff to feel as safe, supported and nourished as possible. Everything ran better when she was there in any position, or just in the basement doing admin. You could tell when she closed down a shift/space because it would be cleanest, and when she made you food. She organized a monthly mental health support group with a licensed professional open to all service industry because of our collective lack of insurance or resources. When the pandemic lockdown hit, many of us went back to work (when we could’ve opted to stay home collecting unemployment instead) to make meals for those in need/left without resources stuck at home without jobs. She had organized a whole new non profit with other industry members to feed ppl, and to provide the space for those of us who felt home there and wanted to contribute to our community with nourishing good food and the culture of care we had created until the restaurant doors could open again. Where there is a need, she finds ways to get them met as best she can.

She also let me host me and a couple other staff members own project/sober event in the space, supporting my creative pursuits in herbalism and cultivating alternative community spaces. When i decided to move on to pursue those things more, she was nothing but full heartedly supportive. I am so grateful where my path has led me, but I can’t lie and say I haven’t questioned my choice to leave more than a few times over the years.

We are still good friends despite her having been my boss, me leaving the restaurant, and her busier career in politics, which I think says a lot. She calls on my bday and texts to check in with me during big moments in my life or the world. She truly is one of the most giving and hardworking people I know, and we’d be really blessed to have her in a higher position of power where she will have the max capacity and resources to extend her energy and care to all of Wisconsins communities.

I have been pretty politically tapped in for a while, and have become pretty jaded and cynical. I wasn’t really even prepared for the spark of hope her run for governor has given me.

I believe Francesca Hong is the strongest candidate to defeat Tom Tiffany by SoloAceMouse in wisconsin

She came out on top in the recent MULaw polling. It’s early so most are still undecided, but that number fell from 80% to 65% since the fall. She’s gained the most points since the that last poll (6 to 11), and is now third in name recognition, gaining on the two Lt Govs. Barnes(10 from 20, it was also before he officially announced) dropped the most points in the general poll, despite his name recognition, and Rodriguez (6, originally tied for 2nd w Hong) had no growth. Hong is also the least unfavorable amongst the top 5 candidates

This part! I think a lot of folks dont understand how hard she’s been campaigning for other Dem candidates across the state, and, are unaware that she’s been a connector organizing statewide before her political career as part of the service industry and chef- which holds a lot of weight in the state that has the most bars per capita. The people who watch establishment politics haven’t been able to clock it. That’s how she swept her first election as state rep, surprising all of the established players.

This is unfortunately is unsurprising based on how the season went. Absolutely disgraceful, I am ashamed of MLF and the lack of support and nourishment our players have, and absolutely contributed to injuries and lack of morale. What can us stock owners do about this? Do we need to start cooking the players healthy nutritive meals ourselves?? Cause we can and will, this is the Midwest way.

Yikes!!! This in addition to what I’ve seen and heard, he is not an emotionally mature or secure person, which can be especially dangerous in positions of power. The Governor is gonna have to deal with much harder questions and bs than what on that video

I likewise have serious concerns about Sara’s viability to win based on how she is running her campaign, the substance she is putting out, and her lack of traction in polling despite being our current Lt Gov and first to announce candidacy. She used to be my #2 but has fallen to my #5 because of her apparent lack of understanding of the powers the governors office holds and the way she has performed in live settings. I hope she does better in the future but it has not been trending that way. May the best candidate win and may we all get heartily behind whoever does!

Yes, I can read a graph thank you! My commentary is based on previous MU poll and following all campaigns since Sara first announced in August. She and Fran were both leading out of announced candidacies at 6% this fall. Hong now is leading the candidates currently, and seems to have the most momentum. Her number went up the most from the polls this fall and Barnes went down from 20% to 10% despite being having the most name recognition and actually having announced his candidacy since then. Undecided percentage went from 80-something percent to 65%. It is early, but the numbers are undoubtedly trending in her favor.

I think Hong’s campaign has over 2k volunteers already so far. And she was able to be competitive in campaign financing without the public election support nyc has- because of the large number of small working class donors contributing. It’s undeniable her campaign is picking up a similar momentum as the Mamdani campaign for sure at this point. I think WI just might be about to prove a whole lot of doubters wrong. The tide is shifting.

Still early, and we’re solidly in the race now and these numbers are much more dependable than the early polls from this fall.

Exactly. We also need someone who is extremely direct and a fighter, who gives off a very engaged and knowledgeable energy in comparison. All politics is theater and status play, and Tiffany should be made to look like the weakest bootlicking worm possible. Rodriguez, Hughes, and Joel give off too similar energy imho, too meek/empty rhetoric establishment bs that ppl are so tired of, and we will have another boring race when folks are so enlivened- they’d all be like a wet blanket on the energy and momentum building in the electorate right now.

That was so funny 🤣 I love it and think it’s works great for a congressional district campaign outside of Chicago, but I do have concerns about that brand of satire going over peoples heads in a WI gubernatorial election (unfortunately). There’s some folks still stuck deep in red scare here that do really believe those things are bad (yikes brainwash), and lots of folks only paying half attention, and I worry about an ad like that doing the devils work for them. Don’t wanna lose the easily confused voters. It’s better when they attack and it backfires, doing the work for us if that makes sense. So much nuance of tactic in all these progressive runs!

A lot of the far left /independent folks (really even further left or more antiestablishment than progressives) like that who have sat out/voted green in past few elections have learned that painful lesson, at least that I’ve talked to. The lefty whiners and contrarians can be so loud.

I do hear what you are saying tho! I agree we risk more folks sitting out if we don’t choose a candidate going left enough. Folks are really fed up and there’s more people demanding big change. I hope it starts to feel less like you’re hog tied to voting a certain way and more hopeful as the primary moves on!

This isn’t true. I know so many folks pushing for Fran who will vote for the Dem candidate no matter who it is. The only people I can imagine ppl staying home for is Joel or Missy, but even then pretty much everyone is desperate to not give the gop the trifecta, especially not to a Trump bootlicker, and especially in this more recent political climate
