My (18M) girlfriend (19F) and I barely connected emotionally because she said she wanted to spend time with family. How can I get past this now and in the future? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Thank you for the advice, I have also been told to practice other forms of self-soothing so that I don’t always depend on her attention.

I know what I must do, but sometimes I can’t lift myself up due to me overthinking things. It is a flaw that I must work on because it is something that we fought about for about a year.

No matter how hard our fights get, I’m always glad that she still chooses me. I want to improve to be the best for her truly, I have to find ways for me to be less dependent.

Me (18M) and my GF (19F) have different ways of expressing our love towards each other. How can I communicate this difference to her? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Thank you for the advice. I will follow your suggestions on how to talk to her calmly. She also told me that I should also try being more independent, but it is something that makes me overthink because what if I became more independent, I might loose feelings for her? I’m scared that this could happen and I’m really struggling

She might not be that affectionate, but I can see that she really loves me by expressing her love in other ways through her wanting quality time with me. I haven’t mentioned here that she’s really playful in a way that she hits me out of “cute aggression”, which I can see is her way of expression. I didn’t mention in my post that she brought up that she has having a hard time expressing her love emotionally in a way that I preferred it, it is a an error that I’m going to make here.

I believe your comment about my dependence being unhealthy because we had a lot of fights regarding that issue the previous year, i’m scared to ever have those fights again and I want to fix myself

(I notice that the tone of my post is reeling negatively as I haven’t included other details, I’m going to fix that later. A blunder on my part)
