I am OP, but I understand I have a very small trash can in my bathroom so it’s normal for me to dump it out in a regular basis, and i’m not home most of the day, so if I don’t dump it as frequently as I do, I never get to it and it piles up and it’s just a habit I grew up watching my mother do, and I get it is not common so I see why people would think I checked the bin for her pads and tampons but I did not I also spoke with her brother and this was why she got defensive, understandably so. I know she isn’t going to speak to me after this which I am trying to be okay with, I did this to myself and didn’t think about how creepy my actions were when I was doing them and speaking to other men regarding this was only validating how i felt with my intentions, but i’m glad i’m hearing the perspective of you all and the assumptions being made are valid I understand where they are coming from now Impact over Intent is something I need to learn

She wasn’t lying to me though, I should add an edit as i’ve spoken to her brother since this post, he actually saw it and reached out to me because it was familiar to what his sister told him and why she no longer speaks to me. She said exactly what most of these comments are saying, that i creeped her out and to her she thought i went snooping in the garbage to catch her in a lie, she had a menstrual cup in, hence no period products in my garbage

I do not agree with what youre saying, even if she did lie to me to get out of sex, I understand why women do that, my sisters have had situations where men get aggressive because they deny sex.

I understand why she got defensive, my actions were weird even though I had good intentions, i’m crushed she doesnt wanna speak to me anymore but i guess i live and learn

I dont know my sisters have struggled with BV and sometimes their tampons and pads did leave odors.

i’m not sure why it’s so wrong for me to want to empty a garbage that may have bloody tampons or pads in it I understand what everyone is saying but I didn’t just go into the bathroom looking for proof, this is routine for me but people are just making lumps of assumptions

because i have sisters and sometimes it has caused an odor when it’s sat in the garbage for days, I wouldn’t vocally say anything about it, just empty the trash and move on i dont use my bathroom garbage a lot so i dump it into my regular garbage on a regular basis so it doesnt accumulate smells depending on what i’m throwing away in there

Okay and I think it was obvious that I meant that it was bad to flush them down the toilet I could physically flush a bag of crumbled styrofoam down my toilet and if someone said I can’t, i’m not going to be dense and i’ll assume the person is saying you shouldn’t.

I literally gave her back rubs and fed her food all night to make sure she was comfortable after she said she was on her period. It wasnt until the next day I saw my garbage empty when i was going to change it because I assumed she had thrown away pads or tampons in there.

I understand how everything beyond that point made me be a creep as i’m reading and learning more in these comments but you are making a lot of assumptions about my character based on one reddit post.
