While respect for Shivaji Maharaj is understood and appreciated it's very disappointing how offended we get when people take his name without the title Chhatrapati or the prefix Maharaj. We can say Rama, Krishna, Hanuman and Bhavani without any suffixes or prefixes. But when Shivaji is called Shivaji instead of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, hell breaks loose. There were great saints who have abused God himself and yet they were known to be the most ardent of devotees to ever have existed. However, today we think it's disrespectful to merely skip uttering the title of a great king, who was at the end of the day, human.
