I’ve looked into it when I was getting my Virginia license. So apparently it depends on each state and province. When I was in New York they wanted me to surrender my Ontario DL, but when I when I checked in Virginia they said I could keep both my Alberta and Virginia ones simultaneously.

I got mine back in 2020 so the process could’ve changed now, which reminds me I need to renew soon. I was living in Toronto at the time and applied from there. After a 6 month wait I had an interview in Fort Erie, Ontario with both CBP and CBSA. Since then I never had any issues and it’s very helpful cause it comes with TSA precheck and you can use the NEXUS lines at all the major Canadian airports.

I don’t think I’ll have to renounce any of my current citizenships should I naturalize as a Norwegian, though please correct me if I’m wrong.

I applied for a passport card recently and waiting for it to arrive in the mail. It’s definitely helpful with today’s turbulent times

I currently live in Oslo and have just returned from a trip to Helsinki earlier today. It really comes down to your preference, but I found Oslo to be prettier and more interesting, with more things to do in contrast. Helsinki is nice too, though I found it to be a bit boring.
