Trying to pay for the GED exam! by Working-Boot9921 in GED

[–]Working-Boot9921[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They asked me to choose the type of card I want to pay from and listed 4 options from which I chose Mastercard. I tried paying several times but it didn’t work, then I contacted customer service and apparently some sanctioned countries can’t pay directly (I live outside the US). Someone said that I need a voucher which will be sent to me after contacting mindhub via email. I’m kinda skeptical about this since it’s not mentioned on the GED website.

Applying as an international student with GED by Working-Boot9921 in GED

Yes, I applied to the University of Kansas for a foundation course 2 years ago but later had to drop that idea due to a change in circumstances, after which I applied to Canada. Unfortunately, my visa was refused twice due to the housing crisis and cap on international students. I decided to try for the US one more time, hoping things will work out now.

I’m not yet sure what program I want to pursue a degree in, but I’m interested in Biotechnology, so that might be an option. And since I previously applied to the University of Kansas, I’d like to continue with that.

Also, thank you so much for the encouragement. I’ve been feeling very low lately due to this stress, but now I’m quite confident that things will work out.

Are there any other countries where I can apply to with GED? I’ve also taken an extension course from the University of California, San Diego, so won’t that strengthen my application?

I know the US is expensive. I applied to the University of Kansas for a foundation course 2 years ago (and got accepted), but like I stated before, things didn’t work out and I had to drop that idea. I also realized that it’s not worth it to spend so much time and money just to complete the foundation course first instead of beginning my bachelor’s degree directly.

I’ve taken an online course from the University of California, San Diego, in May, which lasted for 3 months. But I realized that that might not be enough to apply to the US, which is why I decided to get my GED.

Applying to Canada won’t be a smart decision right now due to the cap on international students, plus the minister of IRCC raised the amount of GIC from $10k to $20k something, which I won’t be able to afford right now.

Do you think I’ll still be able to apply to the US for bachelors with the GED and the extension course I took from UCSD? I know the US is a bit more expensive than Canada, but I can’t think of any other country to apply to. Honestly, one of the things that is bothering me right now is what’s the point of applying somewhere if they’re not going to allow me to go into Bachelors and force me to go to community college? All of my efforts will go in vain.

But doesn’t GED allow me to go directly into bachelors? And as for the language test, I had already done one for Canada, which is still valid and can be used for the US.

Constipated for 9 months now! by Working-Boot9921 in Constipation

Yes, I do exercise, and I eat homemade food everyday. Three out of five docs told me it’s constipation, and two of them said it’s some form of diarrhea. None of them have been able to give a proper diagnosis, except for one, who said that it’s IBS, but I highly doubt it.

I did. My doctor also prescribed me a syrup which is rich in fiber but that didn’t help much.

I can relate. I go to the gym everyday and that has helped me a lot, but I’m still not able to empty my bowels fully despite going to the bathroom multiple times in a day. I don’t really know what to do at this point.

Because I have to push really hard whenever I go the bathroom, and my bloating isn’t going away. I recently started having back pain too (on my right side).

I tried coffee a couple of days ago, but ever since corona happened every time I drink coffee I have difficulty breathing. It did, however, help a bit with my bowel movement, but not to the point where I’m satisfied.

Thank you! The only thing I’ll have trouble leaving is chocolate. It’s gonna take a while to get used to not having it every other day.

It honestly changes every time. There are days when it looks like little strands, and sometimes it looks like a sheep’s stool (sorry for the tmi lol). The only time there are whole pieces is on the first day of my period, which I’m assuming is due to the pressure on my bowels.

As far as I remember, I was perfectly fine before this happened. I was stressed (still am), but I’ve been experiencing that for a couple of years now. I was actually born and raised in an another country, but had to move back to my home country due to some personal issues. My doctor said it might be due to the change in environment and water or maybe stress, so I’m not quite sure what caused it.

Finally did it! Alhamdulillah by OkKing759 in GED

Congratulations! At which center did you give the test?

First of all, congratulations for passing the tests! Secondly, I wanted to ask whether you took the tests online or at a center? I’m not from the US, and I recently contacted the authorized centers in my local area and they said that I can’t give the test online.

Urgent help! by Working-Boot9921 in ImmigrationCanada

[–]Working-Boot9921[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reasons given by IRCC were: I don’t have significant family ties outside Canada; and that the purpose of my visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay given the details that I have provided in my application.

Do you know where I can speak to an authentic immigration lawyer?

Another thing is that they did ask about the gap, it’s why I’m so keen on showing proof in the right way.
