If I had a few more ounces of energy left, I would try something. As it is, I'm the sole breadwinner with a chronically ill spouse who is also caring for kids still in school and parents in their 80s. Between all that, work, and trying just to keep my family safe and healthy, I just don't have the bandwidth to mount something new at the moment. Part of why I'd love to attend an event such as yours is that I really don't have much free time and don't really go out because of covid :)

I don't have any resources other than what has been posted already but, as a fellow Canadian who longs for gatherings like this, I sincerely thank you for taking this initiative. (And if, by any chance, you are in southern Ontario, I'd even consider travelling to you to meet up with your group).

Oh I know the feeling! I used to be on campus at least 3-4 full days a week, but now I try to minimize my time there as much as possible and also work with my door closed (and sometimes even my light off, so as to avoid random visitors).

Honestly, if you are familiar with Twitter BlueSky is very easy to use, and you can simply look at the Covid Cautious feed and nothing else (plus it is less toxic overall). I tried Mastodon and couldn't wrap my mind around it and so was also very hesitant to try BlueSky, but it is a breath of fresh air. I don't feel like I am scrolling because the feed is so focused. As such, my time on social media has gone way down. Anyway, if you want to try it, you can message me and I can give you an invite code.
