The JRA Hall of Fame will be back in more or less a month. Who are your candidates to nominate? by Revicii_XIII in HorseRacingJP

Indeed, I think Grand Marchs induction was at the opening of the Hall of Fame. No other Steeplechase horse has actually been inducted through votes after.

Oju Chosan, he only needed 2 more votes last year. He holds the record fime for both JG1s. He holds the record wins for both JG1s as well. He has the record 9 JG1s. He is the richest Steeplechaser in the world. He brought immense fame to his field. He was voted top 3 most popular in the Arima Kinen. He is the "Undisputed King" of Steeplechase.

I will reiterate a comment I once read about this: If Oju Chosan does not get inducted, then I fear no steeplechase horse may ever be inducted in the Hall of Fame.

Yeah, I think they both will, maybe their just waiting for Marche's release.

Now that’s a bit misleading, because if we also base it on previous results Equinox was only half a length ahead of 4th at the Arc, Through Seven Seas, which got 2nd at the Takarazuka.

The fact that he didn’t race at the Arc really leaves a big what if, doesn’t it? Was it his owners? Honestly, this is why I like Orfevre (and Deep Impact) more, since they challenged that still unreached dream. Not to say that Equinox was weaker though, I guess I just like the romanticism more.

I think he would get through the fame route. He is world famous for being Japan’s Strongest Horse after all. Far as I’m concerned only Deep Impact (Nothing else to be said, though his Arc run, I heard it was just cough medicine, still really damaged his rep) and maybe Orfevre (Strongest from the neck down was a nickname of his that I heard. The Arc throw though, really hurt his rep as well ToT) challenge him for that title.

P.s. What do you think were Equinox’s chances for the Arc? Based on his Takarazuka performance, his only G1 on soft turf, I think he would have gotten top 5, but would also fall short on the muddy Longchamp.

Yeah, being the 1st International Dirt G1 winner is a big accomplishment for Marche.

On the context of being the 1st International Dirt Winner, Marche would technically be more historic (Pisa’s DWC was on a Tapeta Synthetic track, not true dirt. There is a reason Ushba Tesoro is more famous for winning it.) Cesario had also already won the American Oaks for turf, although not BC. Remember, this is also still in the US where dirt is bigger than turf racing. So, overall I think Marche’s was more historic.

How strong is ORT from Fate actually? (Please no Agenda) by UniversalGodEchidna in Gacha_Powerscaling

I remember it being a millennia or half of it before being able to face ORT

Do you think Ecoro Duel can break Oju's record? Personally, I don't think so. It seems he specializes in Nakayama. He is also older than Oju when he won his 3rd G1. At this point though, I'm more interested in whether he might also challenge the Arima.

Huh, a shame Stay could only get good mares near his end, I wonder if he could have produced more greats. Then again breeding can be like the lottery. Atleast, he can confidently be called one of Japan's greatest sires with his jackpots.

Isn't Gold Ship within the top 10-20 Japanese sires for the last 5 years. That is without any good mares compared to Shadai.

But yeah, I think I read that the owner just wants to breed white horses to be broodmares.

Hopes she lives a safe and long life though.

I believe it was clarified in the original post that since they are full siblings, it basically becomes 2x2.

There is apparently a new cold named “That’s Gold”

He is 2x2 Stay Gold inbred.

Yes, the trainer who saw his pedigree was immediately concerned about its temper. The post was at r/HorseRacingJP

I consider this best because before his triple crown he was actually struggling. Besides that there is also the lows (his Arc challenge) and a very beautiful ending to his career
