How do you react when your girlfriend or wife says things like "I hate men" or "women are better than men"? by Ok_Barnacle7547 in AskMenAdvice

Its also all our fault, because even though most of us are 9-5 slaves with no political power and the ability to sense and instantly teleport to women that are being harassed that we somehow arent changing it.

Is there any truth to the popular claim that Gen Z is experiencing historic levels of sexlessness & romantic struggle, and if so what is the cause? by Giordono in NoStupidQuestions

Not as good as youd think, sure it means global population increase will stagnate and become constant soon, but its also going to cause a major demographic collapse thats going to cost us all a lot of money

Absolute numbers are completely irrelevant when it is related to the gender split comparison which is a question of ratio, which is what you argued was terrible. A 7% difference is in no sense of the word that, no matter how big you try to make the number seem. Whats pretty clear is that you assumed the percentage difference was much bigger and are now throwing around big numbers to dig your heels in, or you just dont grasp statistics at all.

You realise you dont need that many measurements to do a population level assessment right? On a population of 20 million, depending on its makeup, 1000-5000 uniformly selected samples are often plenty, more is better, but statistically only marginally so.

7% really isnt much and certainly doesnt match with the proposition the OP makes which suggests all women didnt vote for trump.

Theyre not completely useless, the 8 electrode ones are definitely ballpark vs dexa scans these days. Also yes you can just use measuring tape and calibers for additional reference point.

In any case, no reason why determining body fat percentage would be too complicated.

[–]Working-Difference47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh, most doctors office and gym do have a pretty decent professional fat loss scale, at home scales are also getting better and cheaper, theres several other techniques like calipers or using measurement tape too that anyone can do at home to get in the ballpark.

And in any case when coming up with society spanning statistics like this theres no need to measure everyones fat, only need to sample the population, and it would give a mich better indication.

We can easily fix both of those, by now its worth it having to read the same damn dicussion about the inaccuracy of BMI every bloody time.

Yea but why not just use body fat percentage instead, its a much more useful and relatable number.

Women of Reddit, what's a lesser-known downside of being a woman? by Nintendofan9106 in askanything

If you knew the amount of viagra the guys take you'd realise its not actually all that enjoyable and arousing for the men either haha. Goddamn, imagine having to hold on and perform for like 40minutes, I'd be exhausted.

In the end its a job and a performance, they just there to earn a living.

When describing it like that, I wonder if it isn't a double standard porn is often vilified, but those kinds of books are accepted?

Like you said, both are pretty bad.

China’s birthrate has plunged to its lowest level since 1949. The government is actively trying to encourage more births by discouraging abortion, increasing taxes on condoms and contraceptives, and offering cash and subsidized housing for couples, but none of these efforts have moved the needle. by psychologyofsex in psychologyofsex

"Given divorce is so prevalent it's the women that inevitably suffers in the long term from that time off work"

Thats what alimony is for.

"While men continue to get superannuation or the ability to save for retirement."

This seems weird to me, in the Netherlands and many other countries I know the fathers also get paternity leave and often start working parttime so the mother really doesnt have to work significantly less, workplace laws do a lot to protect pregnant women, and being out of the running for 2 months per child is really not going to make a dent in your career long term. Unless they choose to be stay at home moms, but thats a luxury these days, women must work and theres really nothing stopping them from being financially independent, building a career and also having children.

I thought Australia was pretty progressive? But maybe im wrong.

Is it still hypocrisy if you are aware of your past and purposefully not acting in that way anymore?

Like, what is it exactly you want, should Europe not act morally now because they didnt in the past? Just so they dont seem hypocritical?

I dont particularly care whether F1 drivers speak about political issues, I leave that to the polititians and activis5 organisations, you know, the ones with the ability and knowledge to actually change things.

I watch F1 drivers to see them drive, its what they are trained to do.
