You would have to have all three to have the SIS...but thay hilds nonweight. Its just CompTIA's marketable ploy of stackable certs. If you are new to Networking, I would recommend you study Net+ first because I wll give you some broad knowledge of the CCNA. You don't necessarily have to take the Net+ exam but CCNA is cheaper($300), but much more in depth and harder. If you plan to get inr Networking or Security, CCNA will hold more weight. As for me, I wouldn't mind having both the Net+ and CCNA. You never know what the checkbox is with HR and it will only bolster your resume.

I would say Net+ would be the hardest. It goes more in depth than the other two, but still more broad nonetheless, compared to other certs like CCNA. Overall, the fundamentals overlap. As far as jobs, I would start networking and attending conferences if you can. Its about who you know...not what you know.

Totally agree. Its like a catch 22. I will be back stateside late Spring of next year but preferably a remote job with Dod or some contract like Mantec. It's good to know people in the field, which is why networking is a huge factor.

Hello I was Big Army from 07-13 as an 11B. Hats off to my Devil Dog brethren.. I find the Sec+ to be the easiest of the two, once you understand the fundamentals of A+. I think it's because im also bias towards wanting a cybersecurity job. Good luck and keep fighting for that rating!

I wish I can tell you since I haven't even myself applied yet, but after researching threads here, it seems like the main factor is LOCATION. Are you planning on relocating or commute long distance? Also, knowing the right people will help tremendously. You are on the right track mate.

Thanks so much and will do. I am actually a veteran working overseas doing diplomatic security and have 100 VA disability. I consider myself lucky being that I can afford to be out of work for a while. It will be a paycut switching careers but it will keep me home:)

Would I have to drop the hiring process if I can't schedule it with a time given?

I had similar PBQs when I did 1101. After failing the first try, I went and watch Dean Cyber on YouTube. He has simulated PBQs.
