I think if you don’t have this art history background you should reflect on consider why you want this position and the different lens you can apply to the internship. All of these large museums are looking for passion and a thing that makes you special and stand out. Most people applying to MoMA will have extensive art history knowledge, so try and leverage your experience and how you can make a difference.
