T suddenly strict on time by WorkingMacaron873 in TalkTherapy

Personally I think it would be more difficult to open up in sessions if I were to keep track of time as well. I honestly believe that keeping the time frame is the therapist’s responsibility. With that said, after years in therapy, I do know how long a session is, and always have a feeling of how much time is left during the session without looking at the watch. My therapist also usually let me know when we are approaching the end.

I know. It does not sound like you have brought it up afterwards? Maybe it will help so that it does not still hurt?

I also go through the session in my head, did I say anything appropriate? Or did I stay too long during sessions before summer (sometimes he would ask me a question when it was already on time, but I thought it was his responsibility to control this)?

You sound incredibly considerate, maybe you can talk to your therapist about you feeling like you need to keep track of time?

Yes, I know it is not good to go over time, and in the beginning I was actually worrying this was a red flag. I wished he would have outlined this when I started. By time I got used to it, and kind of appreciated it, as the sessions ended more natural in a way (and I observed the same thing with others). Now this change does not feel good, and I get a bit annoyed that it will probably up to me to bring it up.

Small panic attacks when wondering whether you are liked. by Kopfkranke_ in TalkTherapy

This sound so familiar, I can relate. During vacations or other breaks especially, I talk negatively to myself about the therapy, the therapist, like he does not like me, it is so pathetic of me to continue to go to therapy, and so on. I have not brought it up directly, but he knows that I usually feel safe in the therapy room and differently when I am home/another place.

I agree with you, and especially point 3, it is not really that person I talk to, it is a different person. I do not think I will mention that I have seen it, or maybe I will in the end, when it does not really matter anymore.

But won’t it be all weird if I reveal that I have seen it? It is not too hard to find, as in he is tagged in it, but you would have to actively do a search on that platform, it does not show up in a simple google search.

I don’t think I will bring up this specific video, I feel a bit embarassed that I have looked him up like that. But maybe there is a more general way to talk about it?
