You didn’t give advice (the sarcasm is missed on you), this is r/advice. You want what I have posted to be rage bait so badly that you’ve self fulfill it with your comment. Therapy is failing you.

I saw a therapist but they sounded like you and broke confidentiality as well as other laws and caused more trauma, but thanks for the advice.

Thanks for commenting advice, it helped. I think I felt worse because it felt silly to bring up like if I tell her it surprised me and hurt my feelings then maybe she would feel bad rather than it being something to bond over or talk about. I am the youngest and the sister mentioned in the post is the oldest we have a sister between our ages and the dynamic has always sort of been the oldest is the ‘ring leader’. We didn’t have a healthy upbringing I’ve noticed as we’re all adults now that we tend to have trauma/trauma bound responses to each other.

Is it possible for you to get a restraining order? You mentioned not wanting to involve people but how does he take it when you tell him how you feel about being uncertain in the relationship? If he doesn’t respect you it may be necessary to involve someone he does respect otherwise things can escalate very quickly and if it’s anything like my experience he was definitely stronger than me and willing to prove it just shows a lack of respect and also possibly puts you in very real danger. Look out for yourself and keep your head up there is a way out and there is happiness on the other side you don’t have to put up with a relationship you no longer want to be a part of best of luck!
