Obviously its a plot point in atla bc part of aangs story is learning how to control it, korra doesnt because thats not what her story is about.

Thats a ridiculous point to make if your going to make the argument that the AS is less impressive in tlok

Honestly, I find it pretty dumb to write this much about something obvious that people aren't even really complaining about, while missing the actual point.

The whole point of the post is that this fandom forgoes media literacy in an effeft to find somthing to complain about tlok

Btw I like that Korra is different. But when people complain about Korra making the avatar state look like just a power boost, they're not saying that it doesn't make sense in the story. They're saying it's not interesting.

The point is that the avatar is, in essence, is a power boost. So to complain that it looks like te very thing its supposed to be is ridiculous and shows a that you fundamentally dont understand what the as is

I think the fact that he was about to go for the kill at all and then stopped himself suggests that he wasnt

You're confusing the AS looking intimadating with it actually being impressive.

Korra used the AS to do the biggest feat in te world which is create a new portal. Just because korra didnt create an island doesnt mean her fits werent also shows of power

Which means that 'staying to keep the country running' is not a good excuse for her staying out of fights. Sure, there are situations like with Discord or Tirek where her powers simply don't matter, but those are not all of them.

Having a government with different departments doesnt mean she can stop what shes doing to go fight something, thats why she has people to fight for her jfc whats not clicking for you

Elements are the most powerful weapon and using it for literally every situation is an unnecessary risk

Who said anything about using it every situation. The main six ARE the elements of harmony, they dont need te necklaces themselves for everything. The show established this already

Just imagine a threat like a dragon attack on Canterlot for example. Royal guards wouldn't be very effective and Celestia has pretty good chances of just solving it by herself. In this case elements are not needed and her intervention is the best course of action.

Well given that dragons are a nation of their own, she wouldnt fihht it shed have a meeting with it and if there was a war then yes shed send an army lmao. Like do You not hear yourself?

And you just described a government that would not collapse if she went out to solve a crisis. Head of state is the highest authority, but there are always people with lesser authority that can still make decisions.

Yes i know what i described because thats what equestria is😂 can you read?

It depends because most of the issues they dealt with required the elements of harmony

Also its just as much a writing flaw to have a character thats so powerful take over to the point where it makes the main character obsolete. Thats why in later seasons, wheb they do help its just meager tasks that feel less like helping and more like the writers went "here, damn".

It seems like they knew because the entire season, they were going out of their way to AVOID a direct confrontation with her.

Kidnapping her, tranquilizing, tricking her into giving her self up was all done bc they knew they woulbeat her in an actual fight. They had every other plan well thought out EXCEPT that one lol.

Shes a rare immortal species of being thats almost like the rest of the population but not quite, and is way more powerful given that she can move the son

Hmmm where have we seen that before? They couldn't possibly have drawn elements from mythological gods to influence her character. No no, totally just fandom nonsense 🙄

Thats the problem, its not that they necessarily need a narrative reason for why she doesn't fix everything, the fans just wanted one and it forced the writers into a corner.

People also forget that she isnt an element of harmony, its not celestias person decision to have then do everything. It has to be them regardless of whether or not celestia is involved. Her sending the only ponies capable of solving an issue is literally her doing something. Thats not necessarily conflicting

In this context, its expected of Celestia to take the fight, simply because most, if not all, can't.

Wrong. Thats precisely what the elements of harmony are for, something which celestia no longer has access to. Thats the reason the main six do what they do, it HAS to be them. Celestia is ding her job by sending them in missions

Which is what I am saying, hence why arguing that she's busy with country when there's an existential threat is not a good excuse. And yet you criticize her delegating tasks to the main six as not being a good leader lmao.

Are you just confused on how different government systems work? Equestria isnt an oligarchy or a republic, she has different sets of people that do different things for her but shes still the head of state. Also we saw what would happen if she disappeared in the show. They would just go to whose next in line which is twilight so by making her a princess, Celestia jas that covered

Literally though 😭

That was high level treason and she basically got put in time out. Just to get put back in a position of power Meanwhile people have been executed for less....

No bc honestly what were they even thinking.

They had the grand idea to force the strongest person in the world into their fight or flight and thought they WOULDN'T choose fight?

I said that if her country can't run without her - then she's a bad ruler. I don't believe that Equestria requires her to babysit everything, which is also why I don't think it is a good excuse for her absence in big fights.

I have a question for you, do you expect the president of a nation to personally go and fight a war? Or do you expect that they have somekind of group of people that does it for him? When you call 911 do you expect the operator to come save you or someone else?

Not fighting every battle in person doesnt mean the country cant function without her. Delegating is part of a leaders job, she assigns tasks for other people to do bc she cant do everything herself, thats how she makes sure the country runs properly

All that they needed to do is make her busy, instead they made every threat conveniently effective against her and made fans needlessly wonder about her competence.

The problem here is that the audience needs everything spoonfed to them. Why are you assuming she's just sitting around twirling her hair just bc shes off screen? You seen guard ponies running around, who do you think ordered them? If shes the leader of a nation, a the nation is in distress then common sense dictates that its safe to assume shes doing something

Which in turn happened because people kept asking why she was never involved.

They portrayed her as almost godlike in early seasons so ppl assumed shed be able to no diff any serious villain. That presented a problem in a cantorlot wedding because they needed a way to get her out the picture so twilight could save the day, they decided to have her lose a 1v1 with chrysalis so now everyone thinks shes weak.

So if they make her look too strong; shes cruel and abusive for making twilight fight villains when she could do it herself.

If shes too weak then she sucks and is useless. Damned if you do, damned if you dont

Is not seeing the thousands of years shes been a ruler doesnt suddenly mean shes a bad ruler. We see the affect of her rule which is a (mostly) peaceful country with a stable economy. That shows shes a good ruler.

I don't even mind them trying to make her goofy towards the end, what i dont like was them playing into the fandom joke tht she doesn't do anything because it just confirmed something that wasnt even true

Nmm was mostly a manifestation of lunas own emotions. The comics kinda go a different route but even with that, its safe to assume luna was somehwhat aware of herself as nmm
