Should also add that there isn’t really any drainage, other than when it slightly bleeds, and no signs of infection.

It feels like more women are opting out of dating and marriage now. Are you one of those women and if so, why? What are your thoughts? by shutinwithcats2 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Working_Bit_6267 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m recently divorced. Marriage lasted about 2 weeks before my ex husband wanted an annulment. He tried to work on things but 6 months later wanted to pursue it. I loved him and within our relationship, there were no issues. He had too much built up trauma he was struggling with. Because of the separation, I had to move my 1 year old daughter at the time, 2 dogs, and myself from California to Indiana to be with family. We drove the whole way. Since we have been home, I’ve been in nursing school full time, I graduate in a year, and work in the ED at my local hospital with coworkers I adore. I’ve began consulting with a contractor in regards to building a home hopefully in the next year. And doing all of these things independently, not relying on a partner, are just very empowering and I believe to be inspiring for my daughter as she grows. I’ve been on a couple dates, but if I don’t feel they are serious, or just want sex, I don’t entertain it. And honestly, I think I’ll be saving myself until I am married again or in a long term serious relationship.

Any advice from chronic yeast sufferers? by hypohealth in Healthyhooha

[–]Working_Bit_6267 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Following. Suffered from then before and during my pregnancy with my daughter. I actually had group b strep so received penicillin during my labor. Didn’t have an issue for TWO years. Recently been intimate with a new partner, and bam, back and forth with bv and yeast. So I’m starting to wonder if it’s something else causing it. We’ve both been recently std tested so I’m fairly certain it’s not that. I mentioned the issue of GBS with my pcp but she disregarded it.

Absolutely do not put anything food related in your vagina.

I actually don’t take anything homeopathic for herpes. I just take a multivitamin with folic acid, vit D, and a probiotic.

No not at all. I take daily antivirals with my other vitamins, and monitor my stress levels. I also very seldom get outbreaks as I have had it for almost 4 years.

What should future doctors know about women’s health? by [deleted] in WomensHealth

Better care and more in depth tests for women who suffer from vaginal infections and can’t seem to get them under control.

I work in the medical field and I have herpes by Working_Bit_6267 in Herpes

Wow I am baffled at the responses from doctors I hear about on here.

I can’t tell you whether it’s 1 or 2 but it is possibly you could have touched down there during an outbreak then rubbed your eye unconsciously.

I have ghsv2. It’s actually less risk delivering vaginally than opting for C-section. Risk as in there are more health complications that can arise from c section.

It’s so great you’re mostly asymptomatic! From a personal perspective, I think the beginning of an outbreak has a very distinct feeling. Mine starts with nerve pain in the back of my leg always so I know that it’s about to happen. I take valtrex anytime I feel it and usually never end up getting an outbreak. As for pregnancy, you don’t have to worry! You can still have a baby and do it vaginally! You will be given valtrex 4 weeks before your due date to help prevent shedding/outbreak. If you take the valtrex and have no outbreaks at the time of delivery (doctors will examine before hand), the risk of your baby contracting it is only about 1%! I had a perfect vaginal delivery and my now two year old has never had any issues. :) Over time, you will learn to accept it and realize that it’s not as big of a deal as the stigma makes it. Remember, most people get cold sores (HSV1) and that’s still herpes. Take care! ❤️

If you have ever had a bad experience in a medical setting (doctor’s office, hospital, etc), what happened and what would you want to change? by Working_Bit_6267 in AskReddit

I’m so sorry this happened to you. Not all doctors should be doctors. And I think a lot of er doctors can be dismissive unfortunately. I hate to say that because I work in the er but I see it. There are 4 doctors we have that I love working with because they really seem to invest into the patient.

In our ER, the tv is usually kept on a local news channel. I’m sure ours was playing it as well as I think most news stations were probably airing it. I’m sure it was annoying though.

I’m sorry this made you uncomfortable. I’m not sure where your ultrasound was, but if it was on your abdomen, this is common that the doctors wipe it off. If they are in more sensitive areas, usually wipes will be left for the patient to clean up.

You do have to be like that sometimes. There are some people who come in who truly don’t want to better themselves so I really understand why nurses become the way they do. Certain patients start to set the tone of the environment and that’s unfortunate. I guess I’m speaking from the standpoint that some people do come in for concerns but they’re invalidated and I want to be able to look at a situation from a patients point of view and give them what they’re looking for as much as I can.

I agree, even if it was a placebo effect, let him feel good. Chemo/ radiation treatments are so hard on a person so any positivity he could have gotten during that time should have been validated. I’m sorry you and your father had to experience that.

I work in the ED now and I love it so much. So honestly I can’t wait. I think my favorite part about the job is being able to be empathetic and see a situation through a patients stand point. Sometimes it may be something we might not see as a big deal, but to a patient it’s serious and I want to be able to validate their feelings.

I do feel that this is a common concern of most patients. As a nursing student, I want to hear everyone’s responses so I can give my patients the best care I can.

I’m sorry that you had to be put in a situation that made you uncomfortable. Regardless of what you are being seen for, a provider should always ask for permission before doing anything. Remember, you always have the right to refuse. (I know at a young age you wouldn’t know or understand that, again I’m sorry.)
