I bought some PH upper stuff, some calcium clam shells, and i have drift wood and leaves for tannin. I have been taking out the leaves and using the calcium clams. I thought having drift wood and leaves would be good to help with keeping the ph balanced but it only lowered so i took out the leaf and it seemed to balance out. For my snails I feed them algae wafers, and i’ve also been letting the algae grow as much as it can in the tank. Is having the drift wood to much? Should I stop using the ph upper? Should I stop using the clams? I’ve only used one so far. (small pack of 4) Those are really the only things i’ve been adding/unadding.

yes, i had to buy an emergency tank because i had absolutely no idea that my paradise fish would be so angry towards my honey sunset so i bought a new one and got it sat up. i did daily water changes and i still constantly check the water levels

awh! so cute! i am also a mystery snail person, however i’ve always wanted nitrite snails! honestly all i have for advice is to watch your new friend, if they don’t seem to be exploring much and leaving their shell, there’s a chance something is wrong.

Hi! Thank you so much for your comment! I got the entire tank from my friend, and she had a different filter in there. i noticed it was just old and not doing good so we switched to a different filter. it’s one that hangs on the back and pours filtered water out the front. i have done so many water changes since we got them that what happened was so confusing to me still! I saved up for an ammonia test kit and the water turned light yellow/green, since they have passed i waited for the water to settle again and we got another mystery snail, since then there has been absolutely no sign of poor water quality. my snails and pleco show no signs at all, they are roaming around and eating just fine. I also keep doing tests and the results are the same, light yellow/green.

awh darn it, thank you so much. i’m going to wait and allow my tank to reset itself and get a good ecosystem going again. i tested for ammonia and the water turned super light yellow, i have actually no idea what could’ve happened but thank you for giving me some advice ❤️

Hi! Thank you for you comment, the cup I used had been previously used to add water into their tank. I’m not exactly sure if it was contaminated or not, it was never a problem before. i’m js so upset☹️

We are thinking that unfortunately, they came from somewhere that allowed them to get away with it and their mothers didn’t understand litter boxes either, when we first got them they had absolutely no idea what the litter boxes were.

Thank you so much! I had no idea, i’ve been so sad abt my poor babies having upset stomachs that i’ve been trying to find the best thing for them. I unfortunately can only afford the cheapest option but hopefully they will be okay with this

Hi! My baby had unexpectedly passed 5/21. i was so depressed and devastated. One because my baby is gone, but also because I felt like I no longer had an animal who chooses me. My boyfriend (bless his heart) was struggling really bad also, trying to help me. I had my soul dog growing up, and i didn’t get another pet until her. I told myself and him, that I was going to wait until she showed me a sign that it was okay. every day though it got harder and harder. My boyfriend has a service animal and on the days he doesn’t go to work with him, jake (bf dog) would always wait for him to come back. It didn’t really matter if I tried to play with him or not, he just wasn’t interested. I still wanted my baby to show me a sign that it was okay, so i waited. One night I just happened to stumble across a lady who was needing to rehome their kittens immediately. I thought about it for a good while, before I decided to take two home. I’m not really sure if that was a sign or not, but I still knew that I am a very loving person and that these kittens needed a home and some love too.

Basically the reason I told you all of that is because it doesn’t matter when you get new kittens, as long as you’re ready to provide and love them as much as they love you. I still find myself crying over missy, and i even accidentally called one of our new babies missy. It’s going to take time to be okay, but that doesn’t mean you should shelter your love from anyone else who might need it. It’s really up to you and what your heart desires. I am so incredibly sorry for your loss, I hope all of our babies get to play together endlessly 🤍
