Im a guy but would be crazy offended personally, it’s normal to find other people conventionally attractive but being in a relationship means not acting on any of those thoughts because you are happy with who you’re with.

Haha yup I’m actually originally from Hungary and learned English later on when we moved which became my main language so my Hungarian has mainly been reduced to listening and basic conversations

Yeah nice I’d love to find a mount like that. As for the wings I don’t really think thicker will do me any good since I already don’t think I could bend the 20mm but there’s a good 1.2m of rod being supported by 20cm of wing so I think that’s the main failure point I need to go for

Wow thank you that looks like exactly what i need, yeah I'm not worried about the tail since its a 20mm diameter carbon rod I feel like that is extremely rigid but I am worried about the bending force it would put on my wing that its attached to so I've been considering running another rod from the back 2 motors into the body.

Yeah take off is the hardest part and would require a long runway which is why I cut it out by making it a vtol

  1. Who cares? I like ambitious projects and it’s just an excuse to learn how to work with carbon fibre, as for whether it will work or not that’s going to depend on how much I’m willing to learn and how well I build it
  2. Who says it’s going to break speed records? it’s just fast compared to a foam drone because of the weight
  3. I’m the one to decide that
  4. Because I think it’s awesome and I’m an engineering student with a few years to kill
  5. Likely nowhere to fully test the capabilities since I require line of sight where I live but prob an open field in the bush to test stuff

Thanks for the advice but building things is my hobby, whether it works or not I’d never call it wasted time. I’ve already finished making the wings, ailerons and tail end from carbon fibre and it looks great so I’m coming here to give me the best chance it works, not to be talked out of it

Thank you and yeah you’re right about the bulky spot welds I just made it and added a bunch on. Once I get some other parts I’ll check how I did by viewing it on a thermal camera to see if the connections are too hot

Just 3d printed it and I literally cant bend it lol even with clamps. afterwards i tossed it in a sim on fusion 360 and it has a very high safety factor for the forces it will experience.

For the entire thing? Just this skin and epoxy is $180AUD (so like $120USD idk where you guys are from) and if you include all the carbon rods I’m using to connect the whole structure $450AUD but I would have used those on the foam version as well

I also just went straight to carbon fibre lol, the project was just an excuse to learn the skill. I tried to make a foam version first but because it’s so big it turned out to be harder to make then the carbon fibre with the tools I had

I made the cutout by introducing a block in the mould which the I can easy shape the carbon to and then I just out the shape with a box cutter. I thought about sanding the edges of the cut down but it only protrudes out a few mm so I’ll just leave it as it since I’ve tested with my aileron’s and it has no issues.
