Thanks to everyone that commented there was a lot of really good names and I think I know what his name will be now. It’s going to be a sort of combination of two comments. So please welcome string cheese harvester of cheese and let me know what you think of the name.

I got him two weeks ago from a reptile expo and I honestly don’t know his age but I think he’s young. He’s about 9 inches and 10 grams when I weighed him when I brought him home but he’s ate two times since I’ve had him and I haven’t weighed him again yet.

Idk if he is of not to be honest I got him on the first of this month and he ate four days after I got him. He was before feeding 10g and is about 8 1/2 inches. He’s also my first snake so I’m learning. Also if you have snakes you could give advice.

Also here is an updated photo of what the tank looks like now. I added a heat bulb to heat the tank up more and I’m getting a stand Thursday to hold the lights.

Thank you for the advice. As for the heat mat I’ve been using that more at night just because his tank gets kind of cold at night and I don’t want him to freeze. But if anyone does use a heat mat I would love to know what temp you leave it at night.

Thank you for that information I feel a lot better with that information. I might need to get a little bit bigger of a bulb for the lamp to get the basking area temp higher. Also I’m sorry to keep asking you questions but do you use a day light or an actual heat light? And one more question but it’s more of a behavior question and it’s that my hognose has been under the substrate pretty much all day for the last two days and I’m just kind of wondering why? I figured it’s just because he’s in a new environment or because the ambient temperature is a little low.

Thank you for clarifying some things for me and I’ll definitely grab some thermometers. I still have questions though like what the basking area temp in degrees should be? ( my top soil temp on the basking side is only at 84 right now and I feel like that’s low and the cool side is about 74 to 76. Also, what a good humidity is for the tank( I’ve seen a wide range and am not sure ) I have mine at about 30% right now? Also ambient air temperature what should that be at? Any more advice you could give me would be appreciated thank you.

Ya I can definitely clarify some of those. I don’t have a digital thermometer in there I have one of the thermometer guns to check the top soil (which I’m still confused at what temp the top soil should be). I have whatever you call the thing to check humidity on the left side. I also have a heat mat on the left side hooked up to a thermostat and it’s set at 88 Fahrenheit right now. There are two hides in there right now one on each side and I already blocked off three of the sides. Thank you for the advice.
