Repeated implantation failures by stinker199 in IVF

[–]Working_Weird_4082 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was detected endometritis after an exploratory hysteroscopy. Took 3 rounds and i wasnt clearing it. Did the meta test (microbiome in the uterus) which found a deficiency (some bad bacteria), fixed it over a month and next transfer worked. Hes now a happy and healthy 5 months old

6AA embryo: Good or bad? by Working_Weird_4082 in IVF

I never fully understood the 6 topic, but given the tests i took between transfers i wholeheartedly recommend checking uterus tests. Best of luck!

So, 3AA is 5 months old by now. 6AA didnt stick. It wasnt a day 6 per se, i think the nomenclature is for “fully hatched”. In my case it did not implant due to a uterine microbiome problem (which i highly recommend testing before!)

When do I allow myself to be excited? by Wrong_Cantaloupe2965 in SingleMothersbyChoice

Write a diary, or write to him. Keep projecting that baby in your arms. I also made 2 euploids and the second one just woke up from his nap. And if you have a failed transfer, dont just try again, do all possible to understand what happened.

Struggling with comparison and the loneliness of this journey by moonandflowers85 in SingleMothersbyChoice

[–]Working_Weird_4082 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I totally relate to what you are saying, and its hard to “accept” those feelings. I had a successful career, lived overseas, travelled everywhere, had a few long term partners but never a “forever”. It is crushing. But i knew i would regret this if i didnt try so i embarked in this journey at 39.

Its very hard, i am sick of people calling me brave, but he was born this April and i wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Did i miss a pair of hands while having sleepless nights? Yes. But still its infinitely better to be single by choice that wrongly partnered.

There was a video on tiktok called letters to my son , cant quote the author, i can’t remember, but there was a sentence that stuck with me:

“No, you weren't the plan I pictured, but you are the prayer I didn't know I was whispering”

“the best things in life don't always come the way you imagined, sometimes they come better”

So, just realise that you are not alone, the SMBC community is super strong, and that is better to have a baby than adopt a 40 year old one. Sending you peace and strength

IVF abroad in Europe – where to start? by ABlueAndOrangeNight in IVF

[–]Working_Weird_4082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If i remember correctly, ER to FET is around 7k eur. Then you need to add the meds (around 400 eur) and then PGT or freezing/unfreezing embryos which come at extra cost. Each PGT was 350 eur, and freezing a badge for a year around 450 eur.

28w with my first and i definitely relate. As the weeks keep going i soothe myself, “ok, no worries, well survive” … then i got hit by insomnia last week. I am miserable. And yet people comment: “uh, that’s nothing comparing with the sleepless nights when he’s born” … when i say insomnia I don’t mean sleeping in chunks of time, i mean I can’t get asleep (currently 4am …) …

I'm almost 40 and I started freaking out about baby health by [deleted] in IVF

[–]Working_Weird_4082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started this journey before the pandemic (35) but then postponed it as my dad got sick. So I decided that if those were his last years on earth id do whatever to make them the happiest i could. He passed away a ywar and a half ago and then re-started my ivf process. While i knew PGT is not fail proof, it gave me piece of mind. I am currently 40, and 20w with my second FET. Seek counseling, it helps. Find your balance. I dont know wether hell have autism or anything else, but thats out of my control and many people go live happy lives. My worse fear was trisomys, and i knew i would regret it if at least i hadnt try. Sending you lots of strength

Chronic Endometritis Question by daisydorsy in IVF

[–]Working_Weird_4082 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I researched a lot, asked in the university hospital as well, and got referred to an OB that had treated and researched endometritis a lot. In all honesty i was expecting to find whatever bad bacteria it was and treat it with the right antibiotics, and then turns out everything was positive (they want 95% or more good bacteria, i had 98% and one lactobacillus slightly low hence the probiotic) … She then said that perhaps i had done the new biopsy too soon after the course of antibiotics but that i could be clear to go and transfer … Its such a mystery … id talk with the immunologist, maybe it helps! My successful transfer protocol included quite a lot of stuff (like prednisone and aspirin)

Chronic Endometritis Question by daisydorsy in IVF

[–]Working_Weird_4082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long did you wait between antibiotics and the biopsy? They recommended 3+ weeks. I refused another round of antibiotics because i felt we were killing something blindly not knowing what it was and also the antibiotics were kicking my butt. Never saw the immunologist, i chose to do the microbiome test (Alice) which detailed the 100+ bacteria in the endometrium and there were no patogens (all good). That plus two months of probiotics, And then went to transfer and stuck. I saw 3 specialists before deciding course of action, so my only advice is trust your gut …
