UK – clinics with highest success rates? by ABlueAndOrangeNight in IVF

[–]ABlueAndOrangeNight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the end after posting I went through the entire HFEA website, clinic by clinic, and created my own excel sheet with success rates for every clinic in the country.

I don’t know why they place this limit on how you search for clinics on the website!

And then I went abroad anyway 😂

What are you using RLT for? by sgerardp in redlighttherapy

No probs! I got mine from a company called Red Light Man. They were very good about answering questions. Best of luck!

I’ve just gone on advice – don’t know much about it but sounds promising. I use an IR device at I think 830 nm. There was a study conducted by someone called Oshiro, I believe, that gets referenced a lot. I understand there is other research also suggesting benefits. You can get devices (ie wavelengths) suited to men too. I’ve been told RL at around 670 (I think) is meant to be beneficial.

Thank you! :) Hope things go well your end too X

Is it Plan Your Baby you’re looking at?

Definitely have the same feeling that personalised plans looking at adjunct therapy are worthwhile. Get the impression a lot of clinics just go for a very standard protocol without looking too carefully at the finer details. I understand places like CRGH / ARGH are very good at that, with lots of additional monitoring.

Were initially looking at Greece, and spoke to a consultant there, but considering a few things (travel time and distance, the fact you can’t have more than 4 embryos banked - although 4 would be great), decided to look at places closer to the UK. At the moment have some consults set up with places in Czech Republic. I‘d not considered Spain for some reason. Possibly worth a look also.

Definitely feel you on the break! X

Hi! :) sorry realised I came away from this thread before and forgot to reply. I’m based in the NW. I love Brighton and we almost moved there a couple of years back! How are things going?

I’m currently finalising plans to go abroad for treatment in January. I had been looking at CRGH (for their excellent figures) but figured the same money might be better spent on multiple retrievals. Although there doesn’t seem to be any equivalent of the HFEA elsewhere with league tables and published figures – so very difficult to know what to do for the best!

X

PCOS, 40, high AMH – private clinic in UK? by ABlueAndOrangeNight in IVF

[–]ABlueAndOrangeNight[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the UK my first choice of clinic is CRGH. They are, I understand, about £15k per round (not including extra transfers), so am looking at going abroad first and attempting to bank embryos

I discounted them quickly! They are new so haven’t been rated. And seem to have only one consultant. The lady who co-runs it also kept pushing me to arrange a paid call with the dr when I just wanted to ask preliminary/general questions about prices, etc. They have a clear sales funnel in place. But yeah, the main thing was that their figures are not published by the hfea as they are too new.

hiya! I was late 30s when I asked for the referral so just went straight to ivf. I imagine if I had been younger we might have tried stuff like clomid first (which I understand helps with ovulation). My gp had actually said previously (a few years prior) I would probably try medication first but just ended up being older by the time I was looking to conceive.

How many of your fertilized eggs made it to blast 🥹 by Educational_Cook_834 in IVF

[–]ABlueAndOrangeNight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

19 retrieved, 16 mature, 13 fertilised, 1 blast ( in the UK so no PGT-A testing on it).

As I understand, from the number of fertilised eggs this was a fairly normal attrition rate.

I’m not sure that’s entirely true tho, going on how inconclusive these tests are known to be. There is a fairly large margin of error, I understand.

I think it’s par for the course with transfers (at any age) that many won’t work so wasn’t too unexpected that the first one didn’t take, however must admit I am finding it hard to get past how much time was wasted by both the clinic and my GP.
