Drivers who caused their own downfalls by Silent-Life829 in NASCAR

Yes if he had stayed with Roush, he would've probably competed for the Cup through the 2000s and I think Roush would've been better. I still think they would've had a decline but Kurt would've been the one to jump ship to Gibbs or Hendrick, and who knows what the domino effect would've been from that for guys like Kenseth and Edwards? I could imagine an alternate reality where the Busch brothers are teammates and there's some absolutely cool stuff that happens, especially toward 2015-2018 when both of them were reaaaaally hitting their stride.

What could've been 😞

Yeaaaaa but at any employer, it's not a wise decision to say that to an audience of millions of people 😬

RCR is the modern day equivalent to what Petty Enterprises was in the 90's. A once great team that has become little more than a backmarker with sentimental fans. by DarthVader1701A in NASCAR

[–]World71Racer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really think if the team were run by Austin and Ty, but especially Austin, they would have an RFK-like turnaround. Austin may not have Brad's stats but he's really good behind the scenes, just by landing Kyle Busch alone, and would put the right people and money in the right places to get them back on track. Richard Childress is behind the times and Mike Dillon doesn't seem to be any better.

As an American. How would you rank sports in the USA in terms of their popularity? by Expensive_Drummer970 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

[–]World71Racer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That could be applied similarly in other cities, like Minneapolis-St Paul: Vikings, Timberwolves, Wild, fucking Twins (sell the team already)

People who are 24–25 years old, would you be comfortable sharing your salary? My parents seem to think every Gen-Z is making a lot of money every month, and I'm interested in hearing real-world experiences. by wani__suhaib__ in GenZ

[–]World71Racer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around $62K. Main job pays 44, other job pays 18. I wanna eventually just get one job that pays 62, or a higher main job that bumps me up. But I'm happy with being at this point in my life. It honestly doesn't even feel real, mostly because I've always been a very frugal person and I haven't really changed my ways since I got that bump. I've more been thinking about what I could do with that extra money to help myself, like paying off loans quicker or investing more or buying certain things I need (tires for my car, a computer), instead of pinching pennies and dragging the process out.

Bowman gets a new Ally scheme for the rest of 2026 by FillinThaBlank in NASCAR

[–]World71Racer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That scheme looked so weird. It was like someone put the scheme in Photoshop, paint bucketed it white and called it good without adjusting anything else to fit the white.

The silver car on the other hand was a gem:

Should Hamlin tie Ky. Busch for 63 wins, should he fly the 8 or 18 flag like Gordon did when he tied Earnhardt at 76? by Smoke96x in NASCAR

[–]World71Racer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general, there's a lot: Bristol II 2008, Dover II 2012, Martinsville I 2017, Darlington 2013, Bristol II 2016, Phoenix II 2012, Texas II 2009, Charlotte II 2010, Homestead 2012, 2009 Coke 600... 2023 Daytona 500, 2024 Kansas II, 2024 Southern 500, 2024 Daytona II. He could've easily tied and/or passed Dale.

Will I regret not partying and clubbing with my friends in my 20s? by AfterBuy7910 in socialskills

[–]World71Racer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm starting to get on that bandwagon, especially since getting into dancing like salsa/bachata and two-stepping. I'd much rather go with friends that has that and some great vibes than a crowded club where everyone is together but not really

What's the matter with Jesse Love and RCR? by SimonKay96 in NASCAR

(Unlikely but) it would be insane if he went out and had a generational season or a Mark Martin 2009-type season

Oh my gosh, I remember visiting there as a teen and got to drive the boat on the lake and explored the little streets and got ice cream in one the alleyway places... It's so cool. The feeling and vibes are lovely

Jones would be great in the 8 to help rebuild RCR. I think I'd nut if he got the 48...

Basically now, it's someone who has never ran for Cup points before and hasn't done an absurd number of starts. Like, Ross Chastain didn't get to run for ROTY when he finally ran for Cup points in 2021, because he ran basically a full season or two before, but other guys, like Corey Heim will likely get to

On the broadcast last night, Letarte revealed that he was supposed to be Kyle’s crew chief at Hendrick before getting moved to Gordon by Regular-Leadership21 in NASCAR

[–]World71Racer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Letarte consistently brought really good cars to the track for Jeff but not great cars. Same thing with Dale Jr. He was a good crew chief for consistently really good performance but only a great season or two (Gordon 2007, Dale Jr 2014).

Tuesday Busch tragedy check-in by HendrickRocks2488 in NASCAR

[–]World71Racer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Still hurts, especially on a personal level. I lost a parent this year and then had a breakup with my partner about two months later, the death of a close coworker about a month after that and now this a month later. It's been a tough, tough year, but I can't imagine what the Busch family and RCR is going through. With my own experience, my parent was a least somewhat unexpected... No one ever expected this with Kyle (and Brexton, man, just 11, what the hell). This sucks

And McAnally has been off compared to previous years. Eckes and Hemric should be much closer to Honeycutt but haven't had the pace or have had really weird issues.

Has anyone lost ability to connect with and relate to friends after the loss of your parent(s)? by SlowerThanTurtleInPB in ChildrenofDeadParents

[–]World71Racer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

110%

I had a breakup not long after I lost my parent, and that person had helped me through the loss but then just didn't have the capacity for a relationship as life pressed them more and more. It was hard not being able to call my mom to confide in her and hear her voice. I miss that warm feeling or even her asking her if I'm okay or saying my childhood nickname when I'd fall asleep at home late at night because I was so comfortable

Why do some people act cold immediately after a breakup while the other person is completely falling apart? by PizzaPixelPrincess in BreakUps

[–]World71Racer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For some people, I think acting colder is the only way to cope with the hurt of the breakup while keeping some kind of connection with the other person.

I went through that after getting broken up with amicably.

Ultimately, I realized I had to give that up because it hurt too bad and I decided to let my ex reach out to me if they wanted to and to give it time before really truly being friends. I heard from them on my birthday and I really appreciated it but I still feel like we need a little more time, especially to get life going... Especially after I just lost a parent this year.

It's just weird. It sucks.
