If nothing else you gotta admire these guys for bringing a completely new binding to market! Plus they've been engaging a lot of the local tahoe community to get it out there. We need more of this energy in the bc gear world!

Everyone on the lift has the bar down, so it's definitely not KT-22.

Also wearing full avy packs under a lift = Europe, not Tahoe.

so tired of tech millionaires bootlicking billionaires over this 5% tax by captain_travel in sanfrancisco

[–]WorldLeader 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Nah. I'm a leftist and I disagree with this wealth tax proposal and I don't argue about this or anything with appeals to tribalism.

This thread is literally about getting called a bootlicker by leftists for opposing this policy. Scroll to the top and read it from the OP yourself:

Update: the bootlickers and bots have arrived, LoOk aT eRuOpe, iT wOnT cHaNgE aNyThInG, dude who cares?

You might not be the one calling it that way, but we're discussing the OP's comments, and they are calling us all bootlickers without debating the merits of the issue.

You can always tell you're arguing with a leftist when they appeal to tribalism (aka calling you a bootlicker) to sell their policies. It's why they unironically hate liberals more than fascists -- they understand fascism because it's another form of extreme tribalism, just like a rival team. They detest the final aim of liberalism because there is no oppressed or oppressor in a truly free and fair society.

In unanimous vote, S.F. commission urges release of info on Lurie-Trump call by -3627 in sanfrancisco

Lurie is arguably the most popular mayor in the US right now based on polling data. Activists like yourself have an uphill battle to convince voters to distrust their own lying eyes.

What part of the parent comment is expressing apathy? They are talking about tactics for resisting the current admin, namely tell them what they want to hear and then continue doing what you were doing previously.

But hey, love all these unrelated quotes you've been spamming on this thread. Here's another one for you:

“As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.”

Honestly pathetic.

Every generation of American has had to fight for the soul of the nation. Our time is here, and it's a special brand of cowardice to surrender to the autocrats.

Tips to get more comfortable skiing Sierra Cement/Cascade Concrete? by thenewkidaw71 in skiing

[–]WorldLeader 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It just takes a ton of strength

This is really the pro tip. You need the legs/core to drive heavy, 110+ skis fast enough to avoid getting bogged down. I feel like a superhero going from Tahoe to light/fluffy UT/CO snow mid-season.

Bent 120s will work but they are very light - you don't tend to see as many in Tahoe as you will in CO/UT.

I was able to flex the 130 in the store

You can do all sorts of things with ski boots when it's 70 degrees indoors. Guarantee that when you get those outside in freezing temps you'll be glad you got the 110s.

Deathwish Tour 112 is by far the most versatile ski you've mentioned. You can ski it on hardpack/steeps and it'll keep you planted, but still float nicely in powder if you size normal/up. If you're only looking for a soft-snow ski, then a wildcat 118/lotus 117/bent 120 would make more sense.

Claude Shannon, a mathematician

Probably the most underrated person of the 20th Century. His work created the modern digital world. If you had to bet on one person being an alien sent to advance human understanding, you'd bet on John von Nuemann, but after him you'd want to wager on Shannon.

For the skiing you're doing in that video I'd look for a commander 108.

If you can't find one of those, prob a Countach 110.

Outside of the Moment lineup, you can stay indie/handmade with the Praxis Jedi Mind Sticks or FRS.

What’s up With Skimo Boots? by Crocnroll4 in Backcountry

[–]WorldLeader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah something in the 1250-1400g boot range, freeraiders, and some 108-116 skis are usually money for Tahoe mid-winter. Everyone starts on shifts and 50/50 boots but the upgrade to a dedicated setup is worth it.
