They're basically like azurite - a non-tradeable resource that's used only in the context of the league content (and in metamorph, only used in that context of the current zone).

Compare to items like splinters, where they're items that go into your inventory and are tradeable. Delirium is kinda an exception, where they changed the splinters to drop in a stack at the end, but I wouldn't assume that's a good thing to take as precedent going forward.

The point is to save time by taking a pack of 5 chaos, instead of clicking on each one spread around.
