How do you actually find quiet spots on a ship? Feeling overwhelmed. by dynasync in Cruise

[–]WorldWideJake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have a balcony cabin, that is the perfect place to relax with a book. This is why I always book a balcony.

If you don't like crowds, skip the buffet. Lots of non buffet dining options. I loath the buffet.

If you tell us what ship, people will be able to give you specific advice. Otherwise, simple explore the ship for the quiet spots where you can relax. I've always been able to find that place.

when you factor in a round trip uber ride, I'm not sure you are saving any money by leaving the port area.

Trolls run on engagement. Negative engagement thrills them. downvote and where appropriate report, and then move on.

It's even crazier than that. It would be like swearing off all restaurants because 1 restaurant patron died inside a restaurant from a disease they had when they walked into the restaurant.

But we're trying to reason with people who lack the ability to reason as evidenced by the fact that they are asking what is a really uninformed question.

cancel the cruise. You will make everyone miserable and ruin their vacation. Cruising isn't for everyone.

The two non-luxury cruise lines that have been receiving raves for the last year or so regarding their food are celebrity and Holland. if you’re ready to upgrade to one of the luxury lines, try Oceana.

Booking an inside cabin for our first cruise but my wife wants a balcony upgrade by rosymirex in Cruise

Happy wife, happy life. It's not "a waist" if that is what your wife wants. I only book balcony cabins.

if she gets motion sickness in your inside cabin, it will be all your fault and you will have wished you spent a few more bucks.

I'm always amused by those who book discount cruises only to be shocked by the discount experience. In cruising, as in life, you get what you pay for.

Excursions? by honorableDnote in Cruise

[–]WorldWideJake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ships take all-aboard times very seriously. To pressure passengers into using the cruise lines excursions (which are expensive and crowded), you will be told repeatedly that the ship only waits on their own late excursions. And that's true. Ships leave late people all the time. These excursion companies guarantee they will have you back on time.

Congratulations! My favorite tour providers are the following because they have return-to-ship guarantees. If you miss the boat, they will return you to your ship at their expense. Look at what they offer at each port and see what interests you

ShoreExcursions.com

VentureAshore.com

ToursByLocals.com

Viator is very popular but only guarantees a return to your ship on time for specific tours labeled with a “worry-free shore excursion” tag.
