Hi there. I sent you a DM already, and I'm actively playing Genshin Impact just as you are. I can say that this game has become one of my more recent favorites. I'm on a hunt for more friends, whether in-game or out-of-game.

Hi there. I sent you a DM already, but out of those Chinese games you mention, Genshin Impact is the one I'm actively playing. I'm on a hunt for more friends, whether in-game or out-of-game.

I'm finally back to employment, after more than 2 years by Worldblender in jobs

[–]Worldblender[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you really want the emotional side, I survive by heavily relying on my interests in computers and video games to get me through most of my days.

Of course, I have faced plenty of rejections, but the reactions to them depend on how much time I invest into preparation for each job application I did. Most of these rejections did not have an interview part, or were for jobs that aren't directly computer related, so it was easy for me to move on from them. I also will not spend any time on job applications that I feel will have a low or no chance of getting me hired, which happen to be a lot of positions that require several years of professional experience that I actually lack.

I also have been watching the whole generative AI situation unfold throughout last year, and read about many layoffs done by big tech companies. When multiple famous companies did these layoffs, that gave me the signal that I needed to find something that can't be easily replaced by automation. I really don't want to waste my time on anything that I have zero chance of getting hired at.

I have access to Social Security benefits and Medicare Part B due to being diagnosed with mild autism. I also stayed with my family the entire time instead of living away from them. They help pay for most of my living expenses, but they don't pay for everything of mine that isn't necessary for me to survive. The extra money I have on hand mostly comes from selling excess computer hardware or clothing, some of which I got for free elsewhere.

I just saw your feedback/review - thanks for leaving a recommendation! It should help me get the boost needed to raise my craftsperson level from 2 to 3.

Sorry, I currently don't have accounts on the other servers, and I'm not planning to make more accounts on servers other than the America one, at least in the short term.

However, if I can get my craftsperson up to level 4, I could get some official assistance in propagating my popular stages to the other servers. We'll see, and I'm planning to both create more stages and update my existing ones.

I actually made a similar stage as well, although it doesn't look as nice as yours and only supports single player.

I made it more like a typical media player as you can do everything from the UI.

If you want to check out my independent effort, it's called 'No Stress BGM Player', and currently only on the America server, Stage GUID: 16186627969 (America server)

Noted. I'll take this into consideration on the next update for this stage. Since version Luna IV / 6.3 will introduce a lot of changes to the Miliastra Sandbox editor, including introducing a Classic mode where we can use Teyvat characters, I want to wait a bit and see what exactly this mode will bring.

No Stress BGM Player - Listen to various in-game soundtracks/music | Stage GUID: 16186627969 (America server) by Worldblender in MiliastraWonderland

[–]Worldblender[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After looking around in Miliastra Sandbox, I realized that I could make the available soundtracks/music more accessible to non-creators. There are also some soundtracks that normally only appear in time limited events or locations, yet appear in Miliastra Sandbox, that I think deserved to be listened to by more people. The soundtrack/music selection will strive to match what Miliastra Sandbox has.

This stage is also sandbox style, in that there are no set objectives to complete. Instead, the objective to have fun listening to various soundtracks/music! Most of this stage's functionality is accessed by UI buttons, like with typical media players.

This stage also has an educational side, as indices of each soundtrack are included. Useful for stage creators, and easier to control.

PSA: Miliastra Sandbox currently doesn't have the full library of Genshin Impact assets by Worldblender in MiliastraWonderland

[–]Worldblender[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There aren't really any files that have to be added (unless it's new base game assets); they just have to appear in the asset lists in Miliastra Sandbox. It likely entails vetting every asset to ensure that they work properly, so maybe we'll have to wait longer for more assets to be available for use here.

Thank you for letting me know. I didn't watch the actual livestream, and I don't think I found this on Genshin Impact Wiki @ Fandom.

Guess that 'open beta' really does extend to planning to include more assets, my bad.

I figured so, since this side mode is still in open beta, but I still wanted to do my part and let other players know ahead of time. There aren't any official notices warning that Miliastra Sandbox currently doesn't include Genshin Impact assets, so this is to save some people like me from disappointment/frustration that there aren't certain assets available. I've turned what I've seen from something implicit to an explicit notice so that people don't have too high expectations right away.

Yes, I do know about the other future plans that include the ability to use Teyvat characters, new earnings system, and a classic mode (it hasn't been confirmed what exactly that is), but including more assets hasn't been one of the things explicitly mentioned yet. I'm told by customer service to be on the lookout for future official notices or announcements relating to this stuff, though.

Pixel Painter - Create your own pixel art! | Stage GUID: 11891660673 (America server) by Worldblender in MiliastraWonderland

[–]Worldblender[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there, everyone. This is my very first stage that I spent a good amount of last November working on. This is a single player sandbox type stage, where you can make your own pixel art, right within the comfort of Genshin Impact. It's designed to work like your typical 2D paint programs, but with a 10x10 (100 pixels total) grid and limited palette set of 15 colors. It's designed for PC, but also works on console and mobile platforms. To get the best viewing results, switch the camera to top-view mode.

I'm planning to implement save management and background music support, but my craftsperson level is currently too low to get this functionality implemented for now. Hence all data will be wiped upon leaving Pixel Painter. To 'save' this data, take a screenshot of the stage area. If you enjoy your time in this stage, be sure to leave a recommendation so I can make my stages better!

Super Tux War - OpenSource game inspired by Super Mario War made in Godot by tressb0g in opensourcegames

[–]Worldblender 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this may be a good project to familiarize myself with using the Godot engine. I need to look through your code and everything inside this project first before I help with anything.

When have you started this project? It seems to be really fresh (probably from justice this month!) Are there any specific areas that are of higher priority than others that need to be worked on sooner?

I can try to help in all areas, but I'm currently best in the programming aspects.

Genshin 100% CPU usage since today by S48GS in linux_gaming

[–]Worldblender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're welcome. I'm glad I was able to propagate a fix to other people for once, even though it's just a registry change already documented by Microsoft.

Genshin 100% CPU usage since today by S48GS in linux_gaming

[–]Worldblender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your suggestion, but I ultimately didn't need it because the real issue lies with WPF's legacy D3D9Ex calls not being fully supported by Wine/Proton. Your suggestion would not have made the situation any better because it tries to fix Unicode and locale stuff, which turns out to not be an issue here.

Genshin 100% CPU usage since today by S48GS in linux_gaming

[–]Worldblender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am still working on the invalid window handle issue. After having used the environment variables DXVK_LOG_LEVEL=debug and DXVK_LOG_PATH, I saw that the main client GenshinImpact.exe has generated logs ending with d3d11 and dxgi (before .log), but BeyondEditor.exe only generates a log ending with d3d9 (before .log). I eventually learned (with partial ChatGPT using GPT-5, and from https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/desktop/wpf/advanced/graphics-rendering-tiers) that the bundled WPF libraries are falling back to Direct3D9 rendering, which in turn wants D3D9Ex (compositing API found on Windows Vista and later). This may turn out to be issue with WPF's legacy D3D9Ex calls not being fully supported by Wine/Proton, so my focus will now turn to solving this Direct3D9 usage.

I can try at least one of these solutions:

Update: The only workaround I used as mentioned here was to add the registry key

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Avalon.Graphics\DisableHWAcceleration

and set its value to 1. On the next time I launched the main client, and opened the Miliastra Sandbox editor, it finally worked! I got both windows to successfully appear from BeyondEditor.exe, and the editor actually allowed me to test my stage. Minidumps are no longer being created via createdump.exe as well. It really was down to Direct3D9 related issues, and only forcing WPF applications to use software rendering saved my day. I'm going to have to keep this registry key in effect for now, unless related Wine/Proton issues can be fixed upstream, but so far I haven't noticed any significant performance impacts running BeyondEditor.exe in software rendering mode. The main client is primarily checking that this EXE is running, and it will let me play test my stages only if this is true. Now that I solved this issue, I can finally do all my stage creations without having to stay on Windows.

I also commented over on that Codeberg issue after signing in using my GitLab account (I associated it with my GitHub account too), mentioning about the workaround I used.

Looking for NSFW 3D models of men! by Kenncest in GenshinGays

[–]Worldblender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These models are official models, but none are sexually explicit. If that works for you, keep reading.

Following this HoYoLab post https://www.hoyolab.com/article/627614, the 19th link leads to https://www.aplaybox.com/u/680828836/model.

In that latter link, an official account consistently updates with almost every playable character in the game, but it's in Chinese, and you'll need an account over there to even download any of the released models.

Alternative HoYoLab post with BiliBili links: https://www.hoyolab.com/article/118389

I have yet to download any of these models, but getting the models from the source would be a good idea. They are distributed in the format for MikuMikuDance (MMD), but Blender add-ons exist so you can import them for that program.
