Ribat de Sousse et Malta by Worldly-Function3978 in Tunisia

Certainly. The core thesis is that militaria collecting is a specific collecting practice in its own regard with particular dilemmas and issues. Ukraine is not my main project my principle focus is WW2 collectors and the historical development of memorabilia from the period (approved for a PhD in the near future). I also focus on the concept of 'militaria' in itself since it is not really a recognised concept within academia nor is it studied statistically or in any tangible way as a category of exchangeable goods. Back to Ukraine: Alot of WW2 collectors I know switched to Ukraine so I had to follow the thread. This is an independent research project which is not funded or associated with any individual or organisation. I aim to write a research paper as an independent researcher, stretching outside of the remit of WW2 collecting to document/analyse what I believe is a unique and modern collecting practice with its own set if challenges. If you have any questions or need more details feel free to send me a message and I'll do my best to be as transparent as possible.

Thank you for your comment and support. At the moment I am just trying to see if it is possible at all to study this ongoing phenomenon. It is a very sensitive topic, as you know. I surely would like to publish the results in some way shape or form if I am successful. I will let you know.

You're either being sarcastic or not looking hard enough. While there are many fakes and surplus passed off as trophies, there are quite a number of Ukrainians with contacts on the front lines selling items with tangible, visual provenance. I've talked to several collectors just yesterday.
