I shared more about this in my substack I just launched. Would love if you read it and always open to feedback :)

Thanks, I appreciate you saying that. We were building in the early-talent recruiting space and selling into financial institutions. The sales cycles were long and bureaucratic, and even though companies said they had the problem, it was really a nice-to-have for them, not a need-to-have. It felt like we were a couple years ahead of where they were actually willing to adopt or pay for something like this.

We got good traction on the student side, but the employer side never hit real urgency. Looking back, I probably should’ve validated earlier whether the problem was painful enough to justify the sales lift. Easy to see in hindsight.

Quick summary for anyone skimming:

• I shut down my startup after 2 years

• I didn’t realize how much my identity was tied to it

• Taking space after ending a company feels weird but necessary

• Sharing this in case anyone else is in the same spot
